Hi everyone! I've been looking for a vintage Seamaster like this one for a few months (applied gold indices, at least 1 arabic numeral, black dial, steel case).

https://www.ebay.com/itm/334771923936

I'm not well versed in redials, but I suspect this one has been redialed. What do others think? I'm considering buying this watch and willing to pay a fair price (sub 2k), but would prefer an original dial

Thanks in advance for the help 馃榾

Compare the two e's and the two a's in Seamster to each other, they are quite a bit different. Also the size of the first e to it's neighbor a. I vote redial as well.

You just missed one on the sales forum. it was an absolute beauty and sub 2k. You won't be able to post in the sales forum until you have 200 legitmate posts, but you can always DM a seller.

Shucks! Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it. It tough to know what's real out there.

Don't be afraid to ask again in the future, but best bet is to be patient. Watch the FS section here and the recommendation thread. An original black dialed Seamaster DeVille is somewhat rare, most black ones are repainted.

I'm pretty picky

Me too. With pickiness must come patience. Expect to wait months to years for the right watch to come along.
