There is also a forum for want-to-buy posts, but you are not eligible because you don't have an avatar. Just kidding, you're not eligible because you don't have 200 posts yet. Read the rules in the sticky thread in the sales forum area.[/QUOTE

I now have a friendly tiger avatar haha. Quite a way off 200 posts though...sure ill get there soon. In the meantime I'll keep my eyes peeled for seamsters as they pop up for sale in the forum's and have a read of the sticky thread in the sales forum area. Cheers.

They do at least seem to include in the descriptions that some of them have been repainted but bear in mind you're paying dealer prices and as said above, many have been polished which is a negative for collectors.

I wonder if those on this thread would mind giving their opinions on this watch I stumbled across in the vintage sale section...

https://omegaforums.net/threads/fs-...l-watch-in-mint-condition-ref-166-003.106335/

Many thanks in advance 馃榾

Nice watch, to be totally honest a few $s more than normal is OK as it鈥檚 freshly serviced. Bonus for a newbie

5 years of wearing without issues.

It looks nice to me also, the fact it's been serviced is a bonus on vintage, once I get my Speedmaster fetish out the way, a Seamaster like this would be on my list.

Remember that there would likely be an uplift in having to cover costs from importing it from stateside thanks to HMRC.

The crown is a service replacement, genuine but larger than the one this watch would have been sold with. So correct for a service crown but not the original one for this watch. Depends whether that bothers you or not.

the watch looks a bit polished to me for that sort of price. I am no expert on movements but shouldnt there be an adjustment screw on the regulator? considering this is supposedly serviced that would be a red flag for me

Well, I tried to pop in to see them today... I focus on try!!

The, I assume owner was sitting eating a sandwich with the closed sign on the door, no watches on display in the window only empty boxes and prices - this was a little after 1pm. I kept looking around and eventually pressed the door buzzer and we spoke via the speaker/mic on the door. I apologised for disturbing him and asked if he was on lunch and what time would it be suitable to come back?

I was told in no polite sense that yes, I'm at lunch and to email him as he would not see me without a prior appointment. Website no longer in my favourites, he just lost any chance of my custom.

Wow! Can鈥檛 have been the owner. That attitude makes no sense?

I was the one asking originally about the omegas they had for sale, found myself in norwich and exactly the same, in fact I didn鈥檛 even get an word out of him.
I鈥檝e since spent more time looking and reading and trying to pay attention to detail of ones for sale, as people say if it looks too good it probably is

So it really isn't just me and my handsome looks馃槜
I really didn't understand his stance... unless the shop is just for show and his business is all on-line via eBay, Chrono24 and similar 馃槙

I think I'm going watch blind on my iPad in the evenings but totally agree, if it looks too good...

Another post here about them...

https://omegaforums.net/threads/first-time-buy.107195/

I remember seeing the Speedmaster discussed, and with my very limited knowledge noticed that something was wrong with it. The concerning thing was not that it was being sold innocently, it was the fact that the description tried to flannel the obvious problem with the serial and the reference.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Omega-1968-Vintage-Speedmaster-Black-Step-Dial-145-022-Calibre-861-Moonwatch/183979939692?_trkparms=ispr=1&hash=item2ad60f176c:g:VUsAAOSwzeddlLwW&enc=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&checksum=183979939692c998df25335448c389dd179e7f034d9e&enc=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&checksum=183979939692c998df25335448c389dd179e7f034d9e

Yeah, that Speedmaster referenced on the other thread and on eBay... 馃う

"The case back states 145.022 74 - which many amateurs incorrectly believe supports that the manufacturing date was 1974. The Serial Number 27715342 underpins the above and means the watch was manufactured in 1968 and confirms its pre-moon status. The likelihood is that Omega changed the back case through a service or / and (and more likely) reassembled the watch after the moon landing as having the words engraved "First Watch Worn On The Moon" was they deemed more commercially desirable for the buying public. This marketing ploy by Omega (after the moon landing) is fairly well documented and you can research this yourself. "

I bought a Constellation from the Fine Watch Club.
It was dispatched on time and as advertised.
You will pay a bit more, but at least they're a bricks and mortar shop.

Hope not one of the 20+ Overpriced, redialled black watches they show at the moment.

Recently bought a seamaster 300m cal1109.i found him great to do business with.arrived next day.as the watch had just been serviced I ask for and was supplied with as many as twelve photos of the watch at various stages during the service process.(Serviced by Jose Gomez) as I am not a collector my knowledge is limited but seeing what I bought under the skin,so to speak gives me total confidence in the watch and the seller.i found him very approachable and accommodating and will definitely use again if any of his Watches interest me.

Fine Watch Club seem to specialise in Omegas and I have purchased a Constellation from them.
You will pay over the odds, but they are trustworthy.
Some people think that they redial the black faced dials, but if they do, they do such a great job, you just can't tell.
I don't know why some collectors don't like re-dialed watches, after all, people buy classic cars and spend 拢拢拢拢拢拢 on having them restored, and they like boasting about it.

Paul and Omega Baby, is there anything more you would like to tell us? Perhaps where in Naaarch you live?
