A synchrobeat requires a modified movement which makes the centre seconds hand jump. And these extra parts make the movement thicker - so the case would need a higher caseback as observed in the prototype in the photo above. I had the privilege to study this particular watch in the backstage of the Omega museum some years ago.
A train wheel with a long pivot (meant for a sub-second movement) put into a 30 SC movent and a sub-seconds dial - viola... you can install 2 seconds hands. It is not rocket sience...

I do believe that Omega experimented with 30mm movements with both seconds hands. Basically factory created frankenwatches. But without the information from the archives it is impossible to know which were made inside the factory or outside, so all are suspect until proven otherwise.

The dial has lume plots, but the hands do not, both confirming that the latter MUST be incorrect replacements, and literally making it impossible for a wearer to read the time without light! 🤣

·they probably mixed the SC an PC Movement. i didn´t know this is possible...
The only thing you have to do is butchering the dial to make the centre hole larger .
I like it but it would be better with a fun small second like the ones made by secondseconde

·Lot 10 did not seem like an original dial to me. Interesting sale prices, a lot of mediocre watches seemed to sell for more than I expected.

Hi everyone, I'm completely new to vintage Omega and just got this 1954 Constellation Honeycomb Bumper (Ref. 2782-3 SC, Cal. 354) - it looks incredibly beautiful and clean to me, but could the experts here please check the dial and movement photos to see if everything is factory-original and correct?
And has a very nice gold emblem on the back.

I wonder if we will see this pop up for a third time if it sells on C24. Why would you try to resell it, surely unwinding the sale with the auctioneers due to it being fraudulently described would be a better course. Presumably because the auctioneers wont comply. Buyer beware indeed!
