I guess you mix in a few dogs with some nice watches and put the names Goldberger and Monaco on them all ... and people will just throw money at you.

Next year, we will see some of these watches listed for sale with absurd asking prices with the provenance of coming from the Goldberger collection.

I really think that Goldberger shouldn't be putting a lot of these through such an auction....they are the kind of watches that should be getting dumped anonomously on Ebay or through that UK auction house Watches of Knightsbridge where all the Hatton Gardens dealers dump their shoddy stock....it's really bringing his, what was, very respectable name down IMO.

I think he’s wasting his time, all his scandalous procrastination doesn’t affect the prices achieved.
I find him tiresome to be honest.

Lot 15 was one that stood out to me as potentially re-dialed on a quick look through; were there others that were especially apparent?
I think lot 15 is fine, but lot 10, 19 (per @mac_omega), and 27 (per @DON) are all redials or repro dials I believe.

Ah, that's helpful - I thought that perhaps the font of 'CHRONOMETRE' was relatively too large on 15 and that the 'C's seemed somewhat suspiciously different throughout, but taking another look, it seems likely okay to me

Lot 19 went for 23.000€ + premium, roughly 30k€. Quite a number for a redial…

The Franken-Connie in a seamaster case went for a whopping 3.200€ plus premium, over 4k€.

I‘m flabbergasted.

i'm certainly outside of the market for these watches, but the sold prices seem incredibly optimistic to my clearly unexperienced self... no? 😅

I too am outside the market, but I must say that I noticed quite a few watches which made me scratch my head. Some of which I thought I just hadn’t seen and some just seem to be bits put together and presented as rare?

Omega did make a very few watches with both seconds hands:

I’m not sure that since the demise of Omega’s extract service, how one would be able to authenticate one of these. There are so many interchangeable parts between the cal. 26X and 28X series that it should be easy for a watchmaker to mate the parts needed to make something like this.
