路I don't care for it at all. While I appreciate the work and skills involved in complications very few of them appeal to me.
Alex, I love you, but are you suggesting that Rolex was not the first to produce a Day Date display wristwatch?
A young company, for sure, but you can't pretend that they didn't contribute to the world of horology... In fact Rolex is responsible for more than a few innovations... It wasn't always just about the marketing ..

When I saw one in a window, my first thought was Omega trying to be a Rolex Datejust..Sorry members!
That coin edge bezel the Globemaster echoes is actually a design by Gerald Genta for the C-Case Constellation too, one of the most important watch designers of the 20th century and father of both the Royal Oak and Nautilus.
While I understand the history and certainly don't dispute it, I think the fact that so many people who are not die hard Omega fans think it looks like a DJ copy, that for the casual observer, that's what it is (even though it isn't).
There is a reason Rolex spends more than any other on advertising and marketing....it works! 馃槈

Wanted to love the Globemaster, but it-hand it seemed a bit.. harsh. Like it didn't want to be on my wrist. Just a personal opinion.
I received an email from my local AD in Hamburg this week informing me that my favourite Globemaster was in stock...so of course I had to go and take a look. However, the watch that was in stock wasn't the prototype Model:130.23.39.21.03.001 (Steel, Sedna Gold, Leather) that Julian Lichtsteiner has been showing around Europe, but the real deal and to make matters worse it wasn't the only Globemaster, they also had Model: 130.33.39.21.03.001 (Steel, Tungsten Carbide, Leather).
Now I don't know what other people have seen so far (apart from maybe my photos and videos of Julian Lichtsteiner's prototype Steel/Gold version), but my impression of the proper Steel/Gold one was that it was even more impressive than the prototype...much, much more impressive. How to describe the difference? Well perhaps like comparing two diamonds with different cut, colour and clarity: The real Steel/Gold I just saw was like a brilliant diamond with excellent cut, grade D colour and internally flawless. the prototype by comparison would have rated good, K colour and VS1 clarity. So in other words the real Steel/Sedna Gold Globemaster is a watch that is going to attract attention.
So why should that be a problem? Well next to the Steel/Gold version was the Steel/Tungsten carbide version (both on the same croc strap by the way). By comparison this just looked sublime, cool, sophisticated, professional; a go anywhere, fits in everywhere, never out of place tool. So the problem was that I was torn between head (Tungsten Carbide) and heart (Steel/Gold). What to do? I needed a third decisive vote, namely instinct or gut feeling. This was the point that I left the AD and went for a really heavy German lunch to ensure the blood was in my guts and not elsewhere. I think my lunch had enough calories to feed Africa for a week.

It worked! One hour later I was the proud new owner of.......well have a look at the photo which as usual with the Globemaster just doesn't do it justice
Congratulations and welcome to the club!
