Just a thought.
If anyone on OF has a similar 2915,you have 2 under bidders that missed out.
How about fronting Phillips for the next auction.

I do not think, they will take it so soon. That will put question marks on the current price achieved. And the winner will not like that either, because it will fetch less.....

"Quantitive easing"

40% of all US dollars ever in existence were brought into being in the last 12 months.

Wow, the first half of the video that’s in this page is interesting and educational, but if you watch past the mid-point that video is almost justifying taking up arms against the US government, or at least denying the legitimacy of govt authority —not to mention the subtle charge that it’s being run like House of Cards by cynical, lying would be autocrats, not to mention the IP infringement that it’s using House of Cards video throughout to dress up their interviews.

IMHO it really feels like creepy propaganga. Some of the arguments are interesting, but the narrator is clearly taking sides.

The AQ Speedmasters were in a different league and more understandable, for the most part.
Bafflingly the Soyuz failed to attract a bid.

Back to reality! A 63 Ed White didnt sell either with an estimate of 7,500-11,200 Euros

The Soyuz sold after the auction. Ed White could be gone as well.

So am I seeing this correct... regarding the recent 2998, 105003, BA145022, etc. sales the prices rather dropped or at least varied quite a bit?

Auction prices are just one measure of Speedmaster health or vintage watch health in general. And I seriously doubt auction results are the strongest indicator, they can be very misleading imo. A bidder, or even a handful of bidders willing to pay an obscene amount for a 2915 does not imply a newfound strength for speedmasters, not even for the 2915. We need to focus on the bigger picture, and how trends evolve over time. We need to look at the day to day activities of us regular collectors, and not just at the behavior of the 1%ers.

So, we should all take a deep breath. The speedmaster (and vintage watch market as a whole) market is neither booming nor busting. There is lots of scatter, just like there is now in many financial and other markets. It is unsettling, but no reason to either sulk or rejoice too much.

Agree, but unlike unrealistic sale price wisches a public auction shows actual results.

Yes but public auctions are the tip of the iceberg, vast majority of watches are not sold at public auction (I do not count ebay).
You can guestimate values fairly accurately looking at multiple sources (ebay, chrono24, dealers, forum sale sites, etc) and making necessary corrections.
