They kind've already did. The 2254 nicks load of DNA from that, just as the later Planet Ocean harked back to the original CK2913
The 2254 and the PO both borrow some aspects of some of the early Seamaster 300's, but they are still amagamations. I'd love to see a thinner PO without the helium valve....that would pretty much be the 2nd generation Seamaster 300 (165/166.024).
I think many of us were surprised that a the SM300MC wasn't the closest to a vintage replica that Omega would release (ie. the Trilogy models).
So now if the door is open, let's see a second gen Seamaster reissue!

It'll 5 years since the 300 MC debuted at Basel if I recall? Maybe they will update it in 2019. Having owned the Spectre and currently owning the 300 LE, this is my wishlist for an update.

1. 40mm case size
2. 20mm lug width
3. liquidmetal bezel
4. Black dial and bezel available in titanium

Chances of this? ZERO.

I said on the other thread after years of looking I have finally closed in on a new watch. I don't find the planet ocean or the seamster 300 to thick. In my humble opinion the seamster 300 is understated brilliance. Its just a stunning modern watch which for me its the perfect size. Here are a couple of pictures on my journey to finding the watch I like.

I had the MC a couple years ago and although I really liked it, I kept wishing it was a bit smaller (esp. LTL) and closer to the original... the PCL and large center section of the bracelet end-link kinda bugged me as well, but it was a great, well-made piece and super-accurate... however, I finally got my wish and was able to obtain what I had really wanted from the beginning... so thank you, Omega! happy camper here 馃憤

It would be cool if Omega reissued this guy:
I wonder if they would do that and take a Speedmaster approach with an acrylic crystal.

Not likely for a dive watch.

Why?
Water resistance is significantly increased with a sapphire crystal, is it not?

Plus, with the Trilogy Railmaster and Seamasters, Omega has proven that they can very closely approximate the appearance of the domed acrylic crystals with modern Sapphire.

The RM sapphire domed crystal hits the home rum for me, besting both the Seamaster 300 LE and the Seiko SLA017J 62mas reissue.
