Ive watched the videos. will continue to try, But for me it just doesn't work as easy as the video.
Got mine today and agree. Have two problems, 1) Band is very slippery and getting the buckle locked when wearing the watch is a hit or a miss 2) taking off the clasp after somehow locking it when wearing does not work as easy as the video.

Band feels great when I manage to wear it.

Takes a little practice for sure, as it works differently than the kind of bracelet people have become accustomed to 😀 soon you’ll be able to do it as easily as it looks in the video.

Attest to this. Two days in, got used to the band and still love the field.

And here it is on my FOIS, I used the springbars that came on the watch

That looks nice!
I would like to get one of the new Forstner bands for my FOIS as well, but I am not sure with the clearance between case and end link. I have small wrists, so I expect the end links to rotate downwards.

Is there enough clearance between case and end link?
(Some posts mention some scratching.)

In case of small wrists can the horned part rotate that far to stick out?

I realize this combo is a bit of an anachronism, but I like it anyway.

Out of the two versions, I think I prefer the horned one but I wish the horns had a better fit.
From the images posted in this thread, the horns still leave quite a gap from the case.
Not sure whether this was intentional for one reason or another from the manufacturer though.
And if there's no particular reason, I wish improvements would be made on the fit.

Just my 2 cents.

I agree, the curve on the endlink is not uniform so looks a little odd.

I think it’s important to note that these were never intended specifically for the Speedmaster, so the imperfect fit is somewhat by design. These were launched as a “universal” band designed to fit many watches with different cases and lug width.

Obviously whether one likes the look or not is up to them, but there are plenty of fitted bracelets out there. This is a nice alternative for those that want something a little different and with some pretty cool history behind it.

Don't get me wrong, I really do like the design. To my eyes, it has that lovely retro look.
I just thought that since improvements were made, such as the width of the mesh and the clasp, I thought that maybe with a little modification to the end piece, the gap between it and the case would look better.

Ok - been wearing mine for about 3 weeks. Super comfortable, looks great, easy to take on and off after a few tries.
It seems a couple of the yellow dots fell off while wearing, This pictures are magnified, but you can see how it scratched the inside of the lugs.

I have the horn ended one and it seems like the barrel inside the horns sticks out just a bit which would scratch the inside of the lugs when the dot is missing. One pic had the yellow dot, one it fell off on.

Also there is a little nub on the bottom center of the ends (which I know some have used a dremmel on) that hits the case which also kinda bugs me.

If the ends were 2mm shorter, I'd rather have that than have them hitting the lugs.

It it weren't for the nub and the barrel rubbing, then 10 out of 10 no questions.

As is, its still a great band but I am giving it an 8/10.

I enjoyed wearing it the last 3 weeks and I'm sure it will get more wrist time. I switched to a nato for now.

Does anyone know if the version with the straight ends is less likely to scratch the insides?

I'm not sure if correlation equals causation in this case, but prices on the vintage JB Champion mesh bracelets have plummeted since these new ones were released.

@Forstnerbands
Are there any other variant coming in the future?
Wide version in the works and hopefully released in a few months! Followed hopefully by strap variants. Also have a couple of other bracelets in development but it’s too early to provide specifics 😀

Thanks for sharing this pic - really looks great! Would appreciate any thoughts you have on whether the horned end links scratch the FOIS case at all. Thanks!

Wide? You mean that can fit on larger lug space, like a 22mm......?
I hope you are going to make a variant with a fixed lug as well😗

Yup! Next product in the queue has a wider central mesh portion (at 18mm) and will fit lugs up to 22mm wide.
