I think we agree. If I really wanted one badly I could even have stretched toward 60, but I have other Grails to chase.

I would love to do that, and the occasion might not be too far off.
What's the punishment for simple theft in Sweden?
Can I claim adoption attempt to get away more lightly?
    ;)
    Don't worry.... I will behave:confused:

Vintage watch theft here is punished here in the same way as horse theft in the wild west in the first half of the 19th century :D

Then I guess an adoption arrangement lubricated with sufficient piles of Swedish kroner is the only way ahead.....

Simple answer the internet. You have be on a mission. If you live in mountainous north you have a better chance as some off line deals can be found. Again on a mission. Took me about 3 years to get mine.

I know what I'm going to say next is going to stir up some frenzy...

    YES
    Yes

It's a Viggen for sale on the rolex forum. Its has character shall I say. Prestige yes prestine well it's got character.

My questions are about the early 1st issue. The ones with issue numbers between the lugs.
Do they have M # and tre kronor on caseback?
Are the welds always three digits or a mix of # / ## / ###

    Thanks in advanced flying manovers.

I am not Lord of the Viggens, but perhaps can help too.. I was told once that with this bezel config, and no military markings on the back, that this could be South African Air Force issued. Lemania SAAF, but I am not 100% sure. Anyone else?

I am tempted to say its a Franken. Built to look like a military watch?
Bezel is all wrong for a Viggen. Caseback is not marked as issued.
Some sample, but more likely a put together watch. Nice, but not at USD7K.
Still awaiting for the (Swedish) cavalry to chime in: @styggpyggeno1 might also have a say or two?

Good call @x3no, i had not realised the Saaf came in two dial variants. With and without /|\. Than caseback should have AF#####. Does anyone know what the Saaf inside case ref is? It's not listed in Knirim. Rn 0552... Is listed as 818, Viggen as 817.

Calling the high fliers @marturx @styggpyggeno1 and others, please help us land crabs.

    Thanks again
