thanks for the pics and text. I'm very tempted by the straight lugs one. What is the official price? I think I have -20M at Omegas'
What you people think of the caseback design. Personnally I don't really like it. I find it rather conspicuous.
I wondered if it was the same thread size on the two casebacks?

I really like the FOIS when they are side by side. So many watches and yet so few available funds!

It's there, just thin and hard to see in that picture.

Nice comparisson! The slightly smaller size of the FOIS is a plus in my case

As the calibre 1861 has 21.600 A/h or 3Hz in other terms, does that mean that if you measure the elapsed seconds, the chrono seconds hand stops exactly on a index with the FOiS? And that it doesn't with the Professional? [emoji848]

Thanks for the great comparison. The FIOS is one of the nicer execution of the older Speedmasters - simple and elegant.

I believe lug to lug is a bit shorter??

Yes, lug to lug sizing is a tad smaller; regular Speedy is 48mm while FOIS is 47.15mm if not mistaken

Love the FOIS just little bit more, and thanks for the great photography!

As the case is a little smaller are the lugs 19mm?

Is the case actually smaller? I was under the impression that the bezel diameter is the same, it's just that the FOIS lacks the bumpers of the 3570.

Read what I said above again, I know that the quoted size for the 3570 is bigger but I was suggesting that the bumpers make the difference i.e. the dial and bezel are the same size.

Yes, I believe that's the case. Dial is the same size, but the crown guards make up the difference in size.

Dial hands etc are the same size, but the case is actually shorter lug to lug by a small margin

This photo in the OP helps to better see/understand the difference in the size of the two cases. I would not say that the crown guards make the entire difference in size.
