In order to help cover the cost of the UG, I am regretfully looking to part company with my Speedmaster Apollo 35th Anniversary LE. Please let me know if you know anyone who might be interested!

I recently purchased it from Kringkily, which I am sure he would confirm, if anyone would like a reference.

    Thanks

Igor Stravinsky has long been credited with that line. But he probably stole it. ;)

It currently sits below the Cairelli Rattrapante, the Universalone, the Nina Rindt, the "exotic" Compaxes... maybe others I'm not thinking of at the moment... probably slightly above a good first-issue Polerouter Sub.

No expert but that's my guess!

Used to cost 250$ but now you can get it for 50$.

Yes... here's one that Hodinkee was selling in December 2014 at Bergdorf Goodman, on a 7.5" wrist. They were asking $28,750.

I can only imagine how commanding it is in the flesh. Something so big, but very simple and elegant - the case, lugs, the numbers.

Welcome to the club, OP! They're a lot of fun to wear and often garner curiosity / comments from people that don't care about watches at all.

Well, 12-18 months ago, it was slightly above 60's Polerouter Subs and nearly a third of the cost of a Compax. I actually started a thread about it that had some pretty good back/forth (here: https://omegaforums.net/threads/60s-compax-v-tri-compax.24930/).

There's been a significant correction since then, and they're at near-parity with Evil Ninas (anywhere from $15-20K for a good/great example, $10-15K for more worn examples). Exotics tend to command even higher prices, while UG Unicompax "Big Eyes" sit above Tri-Compaxes/Evil Ninas but below Nina and her Exotic twins.

The one on the left is now gone, sadly, and sold for the middle of my range that I quoted above. Any more information, however, and I'd have to kill you. ;)

Another artist said, "after Picasso there are no original works."

Congrats on the Tricompax, it's a classic.
    But I am biased.

I think the Clapton association with the panda Tri-Compax is not to be underestimated. There are not many unimpeachably cool celebrities out there. He is in a league with Newman and McQueen. Nina Rindt's story is compelling, and she is hauntingly, ethereally beautiful, but...
