Am I the only one who laughed when seeing the wrist hairs from the photoshopped missing wrist?
Lol I missed that - good eyes

I quite like the model, love the pie pan dial and the gold case

There is only one Constellation with 'pointy' lugs and it is in an uncommon British made gold case.

Was tidying up my desktop and happened across a picture of said British gold cased Constellation, with 'pointy' lugs.
Just don't expect to come across one anytime soon as they are like hen's teeth.

I’ve never seen one of these. Reference number?

If you can‘t be patient waiting for the right example you could also have a look at 1960s seamaster with a beats of rice bracelet. With a bit of luck you can find a good example at around 1000€. Either way…make sure to buy from a trusted source or ask for advice on OF.
Good luck!

The case reference is a little confusing because there were two cases with the same reference.
Initially neither had a case reference number and then were given reference '870'
One mirrored the 2943 lyre lug and the other had the unique pointed lugs -both snap backs -produced around 1959/60

Both re-issued with screw back (to mirror the 14393) as '886' in 1961.
Again same ref number for both case styles.

The pointed lug version was produced under the Dennison name but assayed in London, so likely produced by Shackman for Dennison.

The lyre lug version continued with the numbering change over but the pointed lug version was dropped - probably 62/63-ish
So very limited production of the pointed lug model - snap-back version (~18 months) and screw back version (~12 months) .

The full story is in Andrew Romaine's essay regarding Gold Dennison cases, hosted on Desmond's blog
