I’m surprised there isn’t more posted about this today??

Could be an interesting release…
Well I'm super excited but I also don't want to get my hopes up too high 😀

If it's a remake of the original FOIS, it will have the 321 calibre.
And Speedies with the 321 are expensive. Very expensive:

The steel Ed White is CHF 14,6K
The Canopus 1957 is CHF 86,5K
And the Platinum is CHF 61,8K

Given the scarcity of the 321 calibre, let's hope it's in the lower range of these prices.

It wouldn't make much sense making a new edition FOIS with the 321, we already have the straight lugged Ed White with that movement. If they put it in a precious metal case it's not really a FOIS anymore and the market would go 'meh'.

They could discontinue the EdWhite though

They could but I don't think that would accomplish much. I suspect the FOIS will return but with the 3861 movement, possibly with ceramic bezel insert. Sapphire back, maybe, maybe not. And it would carry a much higher price than the old FOIS, something like $7,500 (strap instead of bracelet).

My prediction is sapphire sandwich, 3861, ceramic bezel, DON, step dial, on strap. I don’t think Omega is going to put this on the flat link so ppl can’t do a 3861 Ed White.

My prediction is that it's just another marketing remembrance.
The new FOIS already exists, we know it as "Ed White" with 321 movement.

Feels like more than that, previous marketing remembrance were not that elaborate.

I recall not long ago something similar. Was last mission on the moon celebration?

That was the 55th anniversary of Apollo 11 but the ending of this new video > the legacy continues Oct 3 2024 feels like something is coming.

Yeah, it sounds like something will be introduced on Oct. 3rd, perfect time to reintroduce the FOIS with a 3861.

This could be very interesting release. I hope the price is closer to the normal Speedy, than the EdWhite
Original FOiS was priced between the standard Speedy (hesalite) on a strap and the sapphire sandwich on a strap. I doubt this one would be any different, maybe a few hundred more, but not thousands more.

Been on the fence about trading my FOiS toward one of the new Speedy Pros (because I’d really like the chronometer movement), but if this one is FOiS2 with a 3861 movement and a bracelet, might jump on it.

My guess is it will be more true to the original model, so no leaf seconds hand, don bezel, old logo/text, fauxtina, 1mm longer lug to lug. Interested to see if they do the 321 or 3861. I'm currently in the process of changing out some parts on my FOIS, '57 broad arrow 3594.50 dial, white lollipop, white leaf subdial hands, Naiad crown, original pushers, Old Radium for the hands and markers. Not modifying any of the original parts so it can always go back to stock. I just love the look of the original but don't want to deal with a 60 year old watch. I do think the 321 would be really cool for the new FOIS but I'm sure the price will be crazy if that's the case. Would love to swap in an old 321 from a Seamaster or something but probably not worth the headache and cost.

My guess is it's going to be a 321 release possibly replacing the Ed White. I think the hype about the Ed White has died down a bit and they want to create a new hype piece for the collectors. I hope for the same level of accuracy as on the Ed White. If it's a 321 release it's going to come with a price tag. My guess is 1k+ north of the current Ed White.

Another possibility is something in precious metal that most of us here would not buy for a price north of 50k.
