    Thanks, I would not call them so easy to find. Unfortunately there are a lot of franken watches out there. Wrong dial or something replaced at some point.
    Probably I imagine it gets worse with 60's or 70's Speedmasters.
    Not my birth problem hahahah ;)

    That’s a good one ::facepalm2::

    I’m afraid you’re all wrong, depending on what you need to find...

    Indeed, not sure that many speedies were made in the 80s

    i have A UK delivered one from Jan ‘83 ( EofA) - and it also has the common green lume, similar to OPs version. The Davidoff Bros example with pumpkin lume is i feel extremely uncommon for the early to mid 80s - has anyone else seen other examples with the yellow lume?

    also does anyone know if the 1501 box is correct for ealy 80s?

    my example below

    Yes, I have had and still have several examples of 80s Moonwatches with a yellow lume. @Sherbie you’re right, green lume is something we often see, too :thumbsup:

    to me, green lume was more common on late 70s (-78) as well as the early 80s (145.022).

    As I thought, you don’t know what you’re talking about. A deeper look on those offers and you will see a lot of 48M serials with serials engraved under the case. All those sellers who have no clue, look at the wrong serial table and think that every 48M serial Speedmaster is from 1985 which most of them are not.

    There might be huge difference between finding a birthyear watch and finding a nice birthyear watch. :whistling:

    Yep I didn't check the details... just wanted to point out the www is a great resource, especially this forum...
    If I would look for any Speedmaster, I would solely check the For Sale sub-forum at Omegaforums.net :thumbsup:
    Luckily I haven't been in the market for a Speedmaster since 1997... a quick look at those "" 1980s "" Speedmasters reveals prices between $ 2800.00 and $ 6200.00 :eek:

    On the other hand it's a minefield out there, let's turn Johan Cruijff's saying 180° around... Every advantage has a disadvantage !

    Much congrats! I am also hunting a 1985 Speedy as well, same age as you, and the production date of your Speedy's is just merely 1 month and 1 day younger than me, amazing!!

    Congrats on the find - I think particularly having the hang tag really makes it a great find :)
