In the spirit of learning to accept that people will soon be posting birthyear watches that 1) were manufactured when I was graduating from high school; and 2) cost more than I could have afforded in my mid-thirties by roughly a power of ten, I offer my heartfelt congratulations
Thank you and I take you comment with the best intentions 😀
Thankfully all my years of work have finally started to pay off. I have been living by myself since I'm 18 years old and self funded my pilot carrer working my ass off since then. But I do have a very well paid off job and very grateful for it.

congrats! i really like the cockpit pic, cool to see it in it's element.
Won't be taking it to the cockpit very often. I normally use an Apple watch for work and is pretty banged up and is not my intention to do the same to this one. I do not know whats worse if bringing it to work or going out on a friday night 🤨🤨

This story is a good example of what this Forum is about - sharing information that enables knowledgeable purchases, and then sharing images that we can all appreciate. This case reminds me that it is always worth refusing to cut corners when buying something just because it is there, rather than holding out for the best possible example with all the papers, original finish, etc. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the kind words!!! I have learnt a lot form this forum. Always good advices and pointing in the right direction.

Congratulations! Glad to see it's finally worked out for you.
Not a big fan of NATOs, but I think the darker brown complements it better.

Thank you Martin!! I hope you will find yours in due time!! Waiting on the post of your xmas present you showed me!!! 😉
Im using the dark nato for winter as the Gf advised LOL... :whipped:

Congrats mate I’m on the hunt for a birth year (1978) watch myself so this post is great motivation!

I hope this pumped you up to not loose hope. I think when you less expected it will arrive. But I was every morning doing my web search.
Congrats! I love the idea of literally (as your username and the pictures suggest) taking a flight to collect a birth year watch. 👍

Best perk of my job I can get a ticket on my company airplanes like 10 min before departure. Also for a very nice price 😎
I love reading posts like this. Sometimes I think I’ll give up hunting for a birth year 1981 Speedy and then I see a post that spurs me on! Who knows what’s around the corner.

Really nice set, enjoy it dude.

Thanks!!! I hope you find yours soon!!! Don't give up and you will get a happy ending 😉😉

Congrats for your patience that paid out 👍

Damn, that watch is two weeks younger than me 🥰

Damn... that is close indeed. I am form 11th December so a bit older than me but I am quite happy. Maybe we shall trade one day for one of your 85's 😉😉

Dont make me cry at this time of the year hahahaha.

I would have to put some serious bank notes on top of mine for the 345 I do not think you will ever sell that one. But if you do!!! 😉🍿🥰

I have always liked the long S & R font dial, got to try and find one for myself one day but perhaps not a collectors set like yours.

Nice watch 😉

I agree the long S font dial is very attractive. The only problem I found during my search was a lot of franken with different bezel, caseback etc..

Thanks for the compliments.

have to envy those born in the 1980s... easy-to-find & reasonably-priced Tritium dial Speedmaster chronographs as birthyear watches...
