In other news…

The World Cup is in jeopardy. Trump is furious that NATO did not come to the aid of the USA in its soccerball match against Belgium last night and has demanded urgent talks with Secretary General Gianni Infantino.

It would be funny all the similar comments related to FIFA and World Cup.

But it is really this:

A circle jerk is when a group of men sit or stand in a circle and masturbate. Figuratively, a circle jerk is a group of people who are "getting themselves off" in the echo chamber of their own opinions or activities.

Drumpf may call for a halt to the world cup, now that the USA are out.

I don't remember the leader of a country where the Olympics, World Athletics or World cup was being held every interfering before 🤔

You’ve given us a very good description of what happens when our President’s Cabinet meets with him.

The whole thing is FIFA is a totally corrupt organization run by Bond villains so they'll protect or look the other way for their big stars because they draw the views, get fans to buy the merchandise, and generate the most income. Everything else is window dressing.

Figured if the two teams I usually root for are out of the tourney, always pick a third team. From Day 1 of the World Cup, it's been Norway. From the team photo prior, to the great kits with the flag and Norse rune inspired letters/numbers on the back, to the fans with the drum and chant, this is a country proud of the team, and I'm here along for the ride.

At the risk of steering this thread back to actual football/soccer (and jinxing his performance), Egypt's keeper is absolutely killing it right now against ARG. Aside from Matt Freese's performance last night, the keepers at this cup have been putting on an absolute master class.

Argentina played well, but they were fortunate - it should have been a draw.
Inspired playing by Egypt.

Agreed. Egypt might have still lost in extra time, but recalling their 2nd (original) goal was absolute BS. 100% agree that VAR is now being abused to MAKE calls instead of overturning clear and obvious mistakes.

Especially how the foul on Salah was overlooked, just before Argentina scored the winning goal. You have to feel for Egypt.

Is that the Trivago guy?
It is indeed. To many outside of Germany or the football/soccer community, Jurgen Klöpp is better known for his shiny white teeth in the Trivago ads than he is as a famous coach and player.

Also known as the "jerking-off-two-guys-at-once" dance.

Too bad you all made this political. If Obama had called you would have been showering him with accolades of sportsmanship. You are all Hippocrates.

Who did Renaldo suck off to get his 3 game red card suspension put off for a year?

The context is this: Ronaldo earned a red card in Portugal's second-to-last competitive match before the World Cup.

With it, FIFA decided Ronaldo had earned himself a three-match suspension.

Normally, that would've accounted for their final qualifying match, then the first two games of the World Cup.

But at that time, FIFA announced that the second and third games of the suspension would only have to be served after a one-year probation period.

Essentially, FIFA said Ronaldo can play in the World Cup, and they'll worry about the suspension later.
With all due respect, here’s a load of 💩 wattaboudism. Come on man.

Turkey and new hair colour.
I'm not keen on liverpool but he's a great manager and lifted them out of the doldrums.
Comes across as a decent bloke too and is very witty.
