Decisive Belgium win puts the shameful distraction to bed. I feed bad for US players who were tight from beginning. They didn’t deserve the extra controversy.

Silver lining - at least it was more interesting than the Spain vs. Portugal game this afternoon. Not a great result for USA but this same team just got beat by Belgium back in March. Also by 3 goals.

Didn’t help … Trump induced drama … winning championships always includes overcoming adversity like loss of key players. Getting dragged into ego driven politics was an unwelcome distraction IMO. Kudos to USA team for making it this far. Sadly there is always gonna be an unpleasant footnote to this run.
