·I have just bought a fake CB caseback for an Omega seamaster 300 165024?
I have checked it with all the 165.024 case backs that I have and It's thinner than all of them (including used period ones).
The main difference is that the Fake case back is completely flat with a bevelled edge leading to the case rather than a flat centre leading to a slight bevel and then the bevel down to the case .
CB case backs are not different in shape from period Hugienen Freres, Piquerez and modern ones?
To help I have loaded photos of the fake case back with examples of genuine ones for members to see the difference
for your information the eBay item number: 154255337019 for the case back.
Photos
In the photos I have used a genuine period used 165024 caseback by HF, a modern 165.024 omega case back, and the fake one that has been polished to give it a used feel.
I hope that this is helpfull?
NB I contacted the vendor and he has refunded the purchase price. ( he knew he was selling a fake! Buyer Beware)😀
