Here’s a long overdue thread resurrection..

‘Twas a real favorite thread of mine back in the old days when I was a NooB!

I didn’t own a ‘Fab Suisse’-dialed beauty back then, but I do own a few now, thanks to ΩF 👍.

My first one I guess I ‘inherited’ from our ‘Fabulous’ ΩF veteran, @Alpha: a gorgeous little Alpina gem; thanks, man!

You can see Alpha wearing the very watch in Scotland on page 1 of this thread...

Number 2 & 3 I also acquired from friends/sellers here on ΩF:

The JLC is a little bit more rare since instead of ‘Fab Suisse’, JLC spelled out ‘Fabrique en Suisse’ 😀.

Oh, wait; I guess I should be consistent and spell out ‘Jaeger-Le-Coultre’ as well...😁

Notice that they always seem to have incredible patina... 🥰

Is that a French thing?

Could be a nicotine thing.
Nice watches!

I think that you’re onto to something with the nicotine thing...

Yes, could be nicotine stains indeed. Galouise are awfully potent.

Thanks to @dougiedude for reviving this wonderful thread.
My Fab Suisse UG from the late 1930’s is happy to be part of this. I bought this from @bgrisso several years ago.

I’m hoping to see some other examples posted!

@cristos71 I love the "Seamaster" cal.352 you posted first. It's simply amazing!

How could I forgot such a thread !

@dougiedude Wonderful JLC, if only it had a family... 😁 (dibs also 😗)

In France we also had Gitanes, with corn paper...

Best ones for wristwatch patina things 😉

Whoah 😲, triplet Fabriqué’s!!! 🥰
Thanks for sharing 👍.

I lost track of all the dib’s on mine a long time ago, but I don’t see it ever leaving my collection while I’m still on this earth...😁

My grandfather used to smoke Gitane maïs, the good thing is with a bit of saliva, you could stick it to your lip and smoke it later

Here's a French-cased Cal 360 <<extra-plat>> from c.1949 - it was the lugs that first got me... 🙄

It actually lives with a decent-size, loving family already:

...it’s just that only one of the other members speaks French 🙄...

Interesting "hobby" Never thought about that.

But I have to say, I like it!
