Hi all,

I am not sure if my first watch qualifies for this post as it was produced in Switzerland but carries the wording '' Importe de Suisse '' on the bottom of the dial. I thought it were worth to show it though as it is a unique piece... produced as early as 1931 and delivered to the "French Colonies" (extract from the museum). For those who like to save references - especially for Yann, as he is also fond of "rectangles" like I am - it is a Ref. RW 901 JA with the round Cal. 19.4 inside (sorry no T17 or F 20...)

here with the original box.

What makes this watch so outstanding is not only the near perfect preservation, but the fact that it is executed in yellow and white gold.
The middle part is white gold, the bezel and case back are yellow (case back with 2 white gold corners...). The sides are adorned with a nice pattern.

and here the side view:

The yellow gold of the bezel is very tarnished, so it looks dirty when you watch it from the front... a sign that it has not been touched/polished for decades - I decided to leave it as is, as this patina has taken a very long time to develop like this and it would be lost for ever if the case was polished.

Hope you enjoy!

The next watch to come is a really French example.

best

Erich
Hi Erich, nice CK901, very desirable in its two tone gold case. I have it with 20F and T17, but not with the 19.4. Both mine are in steel, so less unusual. Anyway, they don't have the fab. Suisse marking so they don't qualify for this thread...

Some of mine :

MG 957 (Armure) with a 23.7, from 1929-1930.

CK 976, with a T17, from around 1936.

HrGP39.jpg
CK 651 (Medicus) with a 23.4 SC from around 1937

22Y0vZ.jpg
CK 2041 (St Christophe) with 23.4 SC from around 1936-38.
With a detail as the Fab Suisse is hidden by a light reflection :

CK 3611 with a 23.4 SC T1 from around 1940

Naiad, with a 23.4SC around 1942.

Nice to see this thread resurrected in another post. There's been a couple of additions to my petite français écurie since then.

Another cal 352 chronometer

And a Seamaster, almost identical in design to those of @mac_omega and @Melhadary, the only difference being mine isn't signed Swiss Made at the 6 o clock.

Anybody else with a penchant for la saveur de la france?

Mine doesn't say fab Suisse on the dial, although the dial is pretty special without it! That said french through and through so I felt I must contribute. 18K French rose gold case with more eagle hall marks than I've had got dinners She's quite a beast, 35.5 mm but wears bigger than my jumbo's

Calibre 505 also, which is in wonderful condition and it even has the French made 18K rose omega buckle

And here is my French pink gold Seamaster chronometer with a Cal. 352 inside - with French "eagle" hallmarks for 18K

It still has the old lead gasket...

inside with the "old " Omega logo and French numbering, punch of the case maker

best

Erich

Thanks!

interestingly, in the last one the movement is also stamped with Fabriqué en Suisse.

A little contribution with another caliber. Please note that the movement is stamped with fab. Suisse as well. I wonder if there is any rule concerning the stamping of the movements, which is far from being a general rule. For instance, I do not remember having seen a cal. 30 series with this kind of mark.

Yes, the French 30 mm chronometres do have the fab suisse on the movement

The left twin is Fab Suisse and is currently undressed as the case is off for repairs!
