Lets be honest, as long as ham and bottas are sitting in the MBZ cars the situation is gonna stay the same;

Ham and Bottas likely don't matter so much. When you up bring a driver from the back of the field and he leads most of the race, it's the car.

Couldn't "it's the car" apply to being at the back too? From outside of the teams we just cannot tell. That one race for Mercedes was also the one that was so unusual that Perez won. Not that I regard Checo as a poor driver, perhaps always missing out on choice of who to drive for (with load of Slim money to back him up).

So you’re saying George Russell could lead races in a Williams if he was a better driver? And conversely Lewis Hamilton would win in a Williams?

Seems like a 1-1 comparison to me. Same car, 2 different drivers, same result.

Exactly the opposite.

Or was that sarcasm and I completely missed it...?

When you said back of the field, to me it sounded like you are saying the drivers at the back suck. I think had you said any other driver instead of drivers from the back of the field, there would be no misunderstanding.

Mercedes keeps on winning double titles with Hamilton and Bottas. They're not going to rock the boat as long as they keep winning.

Not necessarily clearly people in the paddock see telemetry data we do not and know a lot more about how good drivers actually are then we are privy to. Why else could Ricardo write his own ticket? Everyone knew George would be fast in any car.

Cheaper?
Possible will be in Renault's interest as well, they would be getting a customer team and more data on their engine. However the timing seems off 2022 would make more sense as everyone would essentially be starting from scratch.

The color looks like they sampled too much of their sponsors brew. British racing cars should be British racing green, not toothpaste colored.

@Vercingetorix
I thought this cars livery was meant to be British Racing Green wasn't it? and that is most certainly NOT British Racing Green by any stretch of the imagination unless I have suddenly gone colour blind that is.

Yeah that lighting on that is pretty bad.
