Getting rid of Perez instead of Stroll would only prove that goal of the team is not to maximize constructors points.

I'm sure Lawrence has a shit ton more money than what Perez can bring.

Let’s not forget that lance would still be driving for Williams if it weren’t for Checo. Checo put Force India into Administration and because of that, became the head of FI. He effectively negotiated the outcome and made sure everyone still got paid. Lawrence was only able to buy the team because it wasn’t absolved (because of Checo) and the sale to Rich Energy was denied.

Lawrence bought the team because he has a secure financial history. It’s why Rich energy was denied (because they are furthest from secure). Lance is costing his dad money whereas Checo is bringing in millions and millions of dollars. All of that money will disappear from Racing Point the second Checo leaves. That money will follow Checo wherever he goes (Sainz has a similar traveling sponsor).

What you’re saying is Lawrence will shrug off that money and pull from his own pockets just for the sake of his son. As much as we all laugh that RP is a team bought for Lance, Lawrence would lose all of his money if it were true.

Aren't we talking about more people than just Lawrence?
From my understanding, it is not just Lawrence backing RP but rather a number of investors? With Lawrence just being the one to coordinate everything.
Do I have that wrong?

that’s what I was saying in my earlier post of - Lance would get the boot before Checko as Lawrence has a board to please. Lawrence definitely isn’t the sole owner and he definitely has a board full of investors. That’s why I’m “challenging” what texasmade said

Lol I'm just along for the ride....
I just saw an article (in Spanish) that claims Perez has been in contact with HAAS and Alfa and there may be an official announcement at the beginning of Aug.

. <----- grain of salt

Something else to consider.
Perez's angel is Carlos Slim.
Is there enough room at Racing Point for the egos of two of the world's riches men?

Lance should get the boot but if dad has enough control of the company everyone else is a minority investor. He stacks the board with his friends and then the board becomes useless.

Lawrence has more than enough money to fund Lance's dream as we've already seen by him buying an F1 team and buying AM. He's worth a couple billion $ so losing $30M a year or whatever it's going to cost to get rid of Perez for Lance isn't going to bankrupt him.

No, but it’s also not smart business. Upsetting investors is the easiest way to loose even more money. We will see what happens though. With the new regs looming in the near future, RP and Haas may not replace anyone to save money for the drastic change of the 2022 car. Haas may not even make it that far lol.

Wouldn't landing a 4X world champion probably come with some $$$ perks though?
Even if they loose the Telmex money, they may be able to get that back through Seb one way or the other.
Maybe.

Buying Aston Martin isn’t smart business either!

All joking aside, I get where you’re coming from but Lawrence has the means to do what he wants so money doesn’t seem like a huge concern to him at the moment,

I love Will Buxton. This is what he says in Paddock Pass Pre-race:
Lawrence Stroll has officially offered Seb a seat if he wanted to take it and Seb doesn't deny that happened. The question is which other driver will get the boot?

Checo
"-Got a contract until 2022.
-Brings a lot of sponsorship money.
-He is VERY competitive.
-Consistent podium finisher.
If you want to get rid of him it costs you both financially and sportingly."

"The other seat is taken by the owners son"

This made me laugh pretty hard. It says a lot and I am glad people aren't holding back.

At this point, can the FIA let Ferrari and Honda cheat the fuel flow sensors? Mercedes is so far in front of everyone else now, it feels like 2014-2016 again. No other team seems to be within .5 seconds of them.

My hope is for a 1st corner banzai dive from one of the Racing Points collecting both Mercedes. 😉
