With talk of Mercedes pulling out, but still supplying other teams with their engines, maybe Ricciardo will be in the box seat with the classic McLaren/Mercedes pairing. I don’t believe that Norris would just jog along as #2 though, he’s got some talent...

Is Alonso going to Renault though? Ah, the silly season 😉

Toto as said nono to VET at Merc in an interview.
ALO has confirmed he's not going for F1 unless he can come in for the new regs.

Just for the fun of it I would really like to see BOT move and RUS go to Merc as they are the only big team without a junior / younger driver.

Also, isn't there a new asian team in the wind, Pathera or something? If that happens they will want experienced hands involved, could see ALO or HUL come back.

Now, i'm off to put money on Kobayashi returning to smash stuff up for Haas.

Vettel to retire - he doesn't need to carry on driving for a second tier team as he has 4 DWC to his name and nothing to prove, Alonso to stay retired as there is plenty of young talent available to partner Ocon at Renault, why bring back a retired driver have a massive salary to pay at a time when the sport is facing a financial crisis.

ALO has said he'd only come back on the new Regs, the current ones are a bust in his eyes.
I agree, think VET will retire, he did say at start of year he wanted to spend more time with his family, however, after a lockdown period I would say all bets are off 😁

I think they see Sainz as less of a threat to Charles, a good competitive #2 who will get podiums and help win the constructor. Danny might have been to competitive for Charles and given some of the issues between him and Vet last season, and some of the issues between Danny and Max in his last season at RB, maybe it was too much of a risk.

Danny did move to McLaren which seems to be on the up and up. Lando is great, and Danny will bring the experience and hunger to be in a winning car.

I don't understand why they would go for Sainz over Ricciardo, but hey what do I know ?!

I can only dream Kobayashi comes back. One of my favorite drivers. He’s been busy winning lemans with Alonso.

Silverstone X 2 GPs and the Dutch one perhaps maybe behind closed doors?
Mad season with rusty drivers ahoy!

Kobayashi actually has driving skills. Unfortunately, he didn't have the financial backing to keep him in F1.

I still remember his first race. Mid season challenging Button the points leader in an amazing pass. He made a few errors in his career, but no more then most. He did have some spectacular bad luck though, and got DNF’s he never should have received when he got collected because of other peoples errors. He’s like Ricardo or Hamilton he knows when to push and when it’s safe, and doesn’t take chances like Max. The best description of his driving I ever heard was he’s already made the choice before you, it’s up to you to react accordingly. Max seems to do the opposite and hope people give him room.

He drives like he never knew he was in a 2nd tier car.
