Indeed, in the wider aspect, this Sherpa Graph is a great racing chronograph.
But, I started this topic to find out the exotic versions - chronographs with red accents and with a dark dial. As I have learned there are not many out there that use Speedmaster Racing / Seamaster Exotic (145.006) type of dial design (also with racing flag pattern). That probably reflects the market back in the late 1960s and early 1970s. And, of course, these designs were released in very small batches.

Lucky me i found this rare specimen 馃槈 Got your point..sorry!

On this one. the tachometer ring is actually the crystal retaining ring. Has anyone had a watch with such a feature? Do you think I鈥檇 be able to reuse this retaining ring ona new crystal? I have a slight crack in this crystal.

See my previous post, all Sherpa Graphs had the Tachymeter scale printed on the retaining ring. Btw 3 years earlier (the Graph was introduced in 1960) then Heuer, who many believed were the first using the tension ring as extension of the dial 馃槈

Nice! Any luck using the old retaining ring on a new crystal? I imagine it would require some experimentation.

Not quite as exotic as some of the other examples, but I recently managed to acquire a very nice Speedmaster Racing Schumacher
3518.50.00.

I've seen several other watches with this "oval checkered flag" motif. Seems that it was quite common on Valjoux Chronos (but branded differently). I really love these. This one belongs to a friend.
