I am a watch-nut who also modifies cars and races them.
So it makes sense that I'm into these racing chronographs. Lately, I've been searching for ones with 'exotic' dials.
By 'exotic' I mean a dial with a chequered flag pattern or similar.

I've found these and I'm interested to see what else is out there.
So, if you have or know more, please share your knowledge.

OMEGA

Seamaster
Reference:145.006 and 145.016 from the late 1960s.
I've borrowed the photo from this reference's research topic.
This is a scarce model. And it costs a small fortune.

Speedmaster
Of course, that is probably the most famous one.
Good reference at Fratello Mag:

105/145.012

145.022 and 3570.40

Mark II 145.014

Chronostop 146.009

DUVAL

Not sure about the reference, but it has Valjoux 7733 movement. Probably ca 36-37mm diameter.

NIVADA and GLYCINE

37mm
Don't know the reference. Different type of case suggests the early 1970s and Valjoux 7736 movement.

GIGANDET

Design suggests 1960s.

LIP

Ninja Ref. 42687
36mm
1970
Valjoux 7733
Chrome plated

Perhaps I've forgot some, but if anyone knows more, please share!
Thanks!

1970 Bulova Chronograph "C", AKA Stars and Stripes, Valjoux 7736

At 43.5-mm, ex crown, these have real presence on the wrist!

Chronostop ref 145.008, 1170 bracelet, 1968

Managed to add Nivada Taravana to my collection now 😀
The Taravana model comes from the case type, officially confirmed by Nivada.

Managed to find out the owner of that Mathey Tissot. The watch is very rare. Inside Valjoux 72 movement. 36mm. Pretty thick case.

Chronostop 146.009

Racing and car-nut here as well!

There's also the driver's version of the Chronostop, the 145.010, in which noon is located at the 3 o'clock position and was intended to be worn on the inside of the wrist to make reading the time relatively easier while driving. Here's one on the bracelet that was originally offered on the 145.009 & 146.009. The ###.009 version is the standard orientation of the dial version. From what I've found the mesh bracelet was offered for the driver's versions, 145.010 & 146.010(date window).
