He was my favourite actor and made 2 of my top 5 movies as per my T-shirts. Not often mentioned is Night Moves from '75. He's superb in it and the movie itself is very good.

I’ve never seen a movie that I didn’t like his performance in. The Conversation is just fantastic, even though it’s not one of the most popular.

I’ve watched a ton of his movies over the last couple of years…
Definitely! One of my favorites and flys well under the radar.

When Bat*21 comes on the tube I always watch it. Outstanding movie based on a true event. R.I.P. Gene

No question he was a fine actor and seemed to be an all around good guy. But the circumstances of his death, along with his wife and dog get weirder and weirder, we'll have to wait for the toxicology results and the autopsies to know what happened. Anyway, RIP.

Best role was as Iceal Hambleton in Bat 21.

The real story of "Gene" Hambleton is probably as interesting as the film.

Indeed a good movie which illustrated the role of lesser-known aircraft such as the Douglas EB-66 ELINT and Rescue missions performed by Douglas A-1 Skyraider and the Jolly Green Giant helicopters under control of the little Cessna O-2 Skymaster CAS...

Two other films of his that are fantastic: "No Way Out" and "Enemy of the State". He was pure gold on screen.

Very sad news.
Totally agree on "The Conversation", one of my favorite movies ever.
