I don't have many details and I'm still in shock. @SkunkPrince ( Tom) and i connected here over some straps but we quickly became friends on Facebook too l. We chatted almost daily, up to Tuesday night even. I felt a strong pull to wear the Elgin WWI conversion yesterday but resisted. Maybe now I know why..I saw he posted here Wednesday night and his dad posted that he passed away "two days ago". His sister also made a post and they will have more information about services coming soon. I will pass along anything I find to us here as not all were connected off the forum. Wearing this in his honor as it was from my trade with the Connie. We were just making another deal on more straps and buckles and a bracelet for hisnroase old lemania I had the honor of receiving as well. I'm devastated and terribly saddened.
So very sorry to hear this. This is a reminder that we are a community, and connected across the world by so much more than our shared passion for watches. Godspeed to him, and condolences to his family and all his friends here.
Awful news for his family and you having developed a relationship with him around a hobby we all love. Thinking of you and his family at this sad time.
Awful news. RIP Tom. I've relied on his research so many times on various Seamaster straps, bracelets, etc.
Sorry to hear that about Tom. My condolences… Only chatted once a few weeks back. Seemed like a great guy who felt strongly about what he enjoyed! Appreciate you sharing.
I recall that he had recently successfully navigated a career or job change, things were sounding happy for him. I’ll miss is posts, especially his steadfast advocacy for Novus vs Polywatch It’s the kind of news that makes us ponder our priorities. Please pass on our condolences.
Wow what terrible news. Me and Tom did some trading back and forth with some watches periodically and he certainly enjoyed this hobby.
This is very sad news, my condolences to his family and friends here. He was generous with his knowledge and always seemed a gentlemen when responding and providing guidance to our new members. I can't say I knew him, but I know I'll miss his presence here.
Condolences to his family. I never had personal conversations with him but he always wanted to help others. This is how I will remember him.
Damn that hits ya. I didn’t know Tom well but interacted with him over a strap and a watch I purchased from him and when he was bummed out about that employment situation I was able to send him some links as my wife’s company was looking for technical writers in another state. Nothing came of it but it’s good to try. I recall how happy he was when something did work out for him. I recall him relating issues with pain that I also sometimes struggle with. Really sad news to hear sorry to the OP as well sounds like you lost a good friend. He was a wacky funny guy in those few transactions and conversations I had with him. Safe travels Tom perhaps we will all meet again sometime in a realm we can’t understand at this time, at least I truly hope so.
