Eterna Matic Dial Originality?

Potential acquisition. Vintage watch enthusiasts please help me determine if the dial on this circa 1962 E-M is original. I’m thinking so especially because the lume dots are still on the outer ring but would appreciate your thoughts. The five ball bearing black dot logo seems possibly not right since it seems this vintage would have raised silver markings? Also I do note the cracked crystal for which hopefully replacements are available. Thanks for your input! JB

The dial fonts look correct. "Swiss" on the dial usually means US market watch. I would think that there were some EternaMatics with 5 black dots on the dial. You would need to get the case reference from inside the watch and Google for other examples of the same reference.

Regarding the crystal, original ones are signed with the 5 ball logo. I cannot tell if this watch has its original crystal or not. If this is original, it would be very difficult to replace, as the current Eterna company has little to no connection to the old Eterna.

If the bracelet is made by NSA and is signed by Eterna it has good value on its own. If it a replacement NSA, less value. If Asian copy, very little value.

It looks promising at first glance.

Maybe you can get some additional photos of the dial to make sure you are seeing the logo properly. They could possibly be silver but at a funny angle, or they could even be holes from which the balls were removed. Or black raised balls as you suggested. Other angles will help.

Also, it's probably just a weird angle but I'd like a closer look at the 5 o'clock lug.

Where’s it coming from and what’s the price?

The photo is very poor and I’d be reluctant to take a gamble unless it’s very cheap. As @gatorcpa says, it’s going to be difficult to source parts and I’m suspicious about the 7 - 10 side of the watch.

The Eterna that I’ve bought have come from as far afield as Buenos Aires and Albania.

France generally seems to have a lot of them in great looking condition at reasonable prices.

Thanks for your comments Spruce, yep I think I’ll pass on this one and hold out for a better example. Regards, JB
