All I can say is, if you want to try a 2208 with 19 mm lugs, it might be difficult...fully compressed it is well over 20 mm.
Al, what would be the typical difference in length for a bar destined for a strap vs a bracelet, assuming the inner width of the lugs is a constant?
Sure, I understand that spring bars that are bigger than the bracelet can't be installed. My question is this - Omega list the 2208 as the only correct spring bar for the Ed White case reference. I was wondering if you knew why this is so? is it perhaps referring to the correct spring bar for a modern, replacement case for that model which has 20mm lugs?
I must be missing something: if 2208 can go on a 20mm strap, how does it fit in between 20mm lugs if the compressed length is greater than 20mm?
No, that’s not it. It’s because during installation, one side goes into a hole, thereby decreasing the effective length.
Normally I would have called this post farming, it still could be as the top poster spot on OF is within grasp.
I never look at my post count, unless someone mentions it...reminds me that I spend too much time here!
