Appreciate that. Thank you.

Can usually see their stuff on eBay.com but never .com.au

Will have to look closer at why I couldn't find these at all.

Just change your ebay country setting to USA with international seller and you should see it all

Higher priced bezel was a black base 1000 bezel. Very hard to find. Used on 2915-3, 2998-1 and 2998-2

Been happening in the Rolex insert market for years. Also people bleaching authentic inserts (subs) to get a faded or ghost look that sells for up to $1,500 for specific inserts.
Buyer beware and so important to have a trusted group to share pics of candidates with prior to buying.

Ummm .... I think it's my fault.
I may of started it.

On Jul 08, 2014, at 8:06PM, I paid over $600 for a DON bezel on eBay.
I just really really wanted one for a lovely .003 I had found.

Jeez - I'm sorry!
I never thought it would come to this.
:-(

(can I get an "Ego te absolvo", please?)

With these prices maybe Omega may elect to manufacture DON bezels.....what would members thoughts be then?

Before I'm accused of beating a dead horse I think if house prices had doubled in 3 weeks it would be worthy of discussion.

There are three things different about these recent sales which I think have affected the price.

1. The DoN bezels that have sold recently were, on the whole, in very good condition. These bezels are rare in any condition and when they do come up, they're often chipped/scratched etc.

2. They were for sale on eBay. While people have said "I paid x for this one in great condition six months ago", I'll wager most of these were not on ebay or widely advertised but from a fair or between collectors.

3. Speedmasters (especially 60's examples) seem to be on the up price wise.

I agree, bezel sold 3 weeks ago was very nice but not quite as good, bezel sold July 2014 seems to be similar condition sold for $600 so maybe x3 in 1 year. I do find the "inflation" of watches quite staggering.

I don't think bezels of this quality have been on the market for years.

Others clearly thought the same

Is this the beginning of The Big Sell-Off before collecting Omega watches becomes more difficult at the end of the year?

What has happened with the price levels of DON bezels does not surprise me if compared to the flat link bracelet/endlink market. It actually could just be a quite overdue price correction.

5 or 6 years ago a nice 1039 with 516 ends could be found for 250-400 euros, a 7912 without ends was 200-275 euros and an average 1035 with no ends 150-200 euros. Sets of no.6麓s were selling for a couple of hundred and loose 516 ends for under a hundred. These items have pretty much doubled or tripled in price since then and a lot of that rise has come in the last couple of years.

Also there were a lot more of these bracelets produced than there were DON bezels, so by that logic if a relatively easy to come by Speedmaster bracelet can triple in value over a 5 or 6 year period then I think the price increases seen in the much more difficult to find DON bezels could still have some decent upward movement left in them.

Buy 麓em while they麓re cheap!

4 months ago, I purchased this 145.022-69 PreMoon DON with 1171 bracelet for $2,100. I think it might have appreciated a bit since then 馃榾
