Do any of these truly have a "correct bracelet"? I can't imagine a lug design that is less suited to any sort of bracelet...

No endlink has that kind of shape but if you have skill, you can fit them on and make them look nice.

Beads of rice bracelet is the only correct bracelet. But if you a spare flat link it should be nice.

Ouch, sucks. But how do you "return it to the auction house"? Maybe laws differ between countries, but in most, you win the auction, you pay up, no excuses... If he just re-consigned it, he got stuffed with first buyer and then seller premiums I guess, so if you do go in for Schadenfreude that could be some comfort I hope.

It was an online auction and in the EU all online purchases (B2C contract) carries with it two weeks right of return, no premiums etc. added.

This one came with the bracelet from Yahoo! Auctions in Japan, where I am as well.

Here are a few examples - not onyx markers but black dial.

Such beautiful black dials, just wonder why the number of black dials is so little compared to the white dials?

IIRC correctly, they were special order so fewer produced.
plus the fact that they appear to have faired less well than other dials means even fewer survive in good condition.

You brought up a great point about market price versus what u need to put into it to get it in top market price condition if that is your wish. I鈥檓 noticing the contacts I knew who used to pick up watches clearing junk out of houses or demo jobs now give me a call and start talking about the eBay price of a watch they may have. First off many of the eBay and Chrono prices are unrealistic and when the prices are on the money they are in great condition sometimes with boxes etc. it gets a bit annoying but I see where they are coming from, people just look it up and say that鈥檚 what it鈥檚 worth while the crystal is cracked, has an old speidel bracelet that ate some of the lugs and of course not serviced in god knows how long. Sometimes they will listen to reason sometimes they think I am pulling a scam. If they think I鈥檓 trying to scam them I shake their hand and tell them I appreciate you showing me the watch and I hope you get your 1500 or 2k or more. Watches are an expensive hobby, there is no money to be made in repairing them and wearing them as I do. I did pick up one of the constellations you have for a couple hundred bucks at a little shop as it has a ding in the dial around the 10pm mark. It can鈥檛 be seen from wrist to eye length but it certainly is bad enough to have an impact on the value. I was thinking of looking around see what the chances are of finding the right dial and replace it. I have no idea on cost or availability but I do know a couple people I can at least inquire to. Very nice watches you have.
