Hi everyone I'm looking at a UG 22279 for sale and so far I've checked Sala's book and the pictures I've seen show a white dial with dauphine hands, so could the watch have had its parts replaced? Could you help me out here thanks so much!

The case reference number does not necessarily tell you anything about the dial/hands, just the case. Although it can 馃槈

This dial is not original, nor are the H/M hands (not sure about the other hands without looking more carefully).

Thanks for your input! By the way, out of curiosity, how could you tell the dial was replaced?

Weirdly attractive watch if you are just looking for an inexpensive fashion piece. As a collectible piece the hypo HM hands are not correct. The dial is a very good redial IMO. Rounded 3s are an indicator. Closed 6 was used in 50鈥檚. Love the clean moon disk.

Well, it will be a VERY hard research. Black dialed tri-compax are perhaps the rarest combo in UG world, so....
Moreover, if one will pop up sooner or later, you've to buy it VERY fast... 馃槈

I've never seen one for sale. Or seen one in person.

No matter how pretty, well shot, well displayed, almost always a redial.

Rip that doesn't bode well 馃檨 do you think maybe I should get this one and try to find age-appropriate hands?

I think that you should find a nice white one 馃榾
A black one is terribly rare, and I think that if you find one it will cost - at least - 25K$ - if authentic and in nice conditions.

Why buying a redial? Just buy a normal one! They are not rare watches 馃榾

If you want to get a Tri, starting by looking for a black dial Tri is not a realistic goal, unless you get unbelievably lucky.

You might want to set a more achievable goal for some other type of original Tri.

Most collectors would not advise you to purchase any UG with a redial.

Fair enough - thanks for your opinions I'll pass on this and look out for other tri compaxes. I just like the look of the rose gold and black tri compax dials hehe

if you like this combo you'll have more chance to find a nice Breitling Datora with those skills.
Always rare, but not so rare.

Great I'll have a look at them! What about pink gold dialled Tris? Are those as rare as black dialled ones?
