Do you wear your watches in lockdown.

Haven't been wearing watches during the lockdown - but was finding my overall mood was diminishing - over the last few days I've started wearing the watch at home - almost going back to my old routine of choosing the watch, then setting and winding.

Turns out that I really enjoy that minor event, as well as looking at it throughout the day.

It's sometimes easy to forget the little things actually mean more than you realize. YMMV.

My initial reaction was to only wear my ageing Citizen as my daily watch, but as the days have passed I realised that I was punishing myself for some reason, I have nice watches so why not wear them as I would have done, so for the last few weeks my two Omega's and my DJ have been rotating as daily wearers.

I have tried to understand why I didn't want to wear my better watches and I cannot get my head round my decision.

Lockdown? I've hardly had a day off since this thing started. Business as usual for me when it comes to watch routine.

I've been wearing mine less, just because of more working from home.

Just put on my first “real” watch in the last 5 weeks as I have to go to an appointment (been wearing small mil watches on fabric straps around the house- like watch pajamas).

Within the first 3 minutes I put it into a door frame....wow, like a cat that loses its whiskers.

....and apparently I have gained a little weight 😒

Absolutely. I’ve worn a watch pretty much every day for over 40 years. I’m working from home. While I don’t need to be dressed for the office, my watch is nevertheless essential. Ain’t the same without one.

I don't think it gets any more digital than this:

I disagree 😀(not mine)

Exercise is key! Thankfully, I can still go out to run a bit, but not as much as before... So, I added a kind of routine to avoid remain sitted all day long (and also to preserve my back and neck). Between 2 to 4 times per day (depending of my meeting planning), I exercise during 3-5 minutes. Upper, core, lower, back, 20 rep for each part. I checked some websites to have a diversity of exercises and avoid being bored doing always the same thing. In the end, nothing that makes me sweaty, but since I started a month ago, I feel I built more muscles than when I trained 2*1h30 a week and even lost a bit of weight!

I also reduced alcohol, maybe that helped too 😁 (but I also could not resist making a Negroni after I saw Foo2rama's post...)

Coming back to the topic, I wear a watch nearly (sh*t happens ^^) every day. And I wear it every day working from home: I kept my habits as they were before the lockdown. Well, except about the shoes 😁

Have not worn watch or any of the rings I normally wear every single day. Not because I’m “not going out” but because I wash my hands about 20 times a day, including the wrists as recommended. I actually stopped wearing a watch even as I was still going to work.

It is truly amazing how often I stare at the watch face when feeling stressed or down from the whole Covid pandemic situation. Almost has a meditation like relaxation quality to it.
Whether I’m at home with shelter in place for whether I’m on the front line at work, I wear one of my watches. Since the pandemic started, I have also started wearing one at night.
Usually stainless steel allows easier disinfecting. I’m wearing this one today

Wearing three, today. My 50 year old Accutron 218 Railroader, my Tissot PR516 automatic circa 55 years old, and my Waltham Vanguard, 58 years old. Just got back from grocery shopping in my 42 year old car. I like old stuff.
That’s what I’m talking about! I’ve been wearing at least one everyday. Sometimes two or three a day and more than one at a time!

Today, my Accutron Railroader still, and my Waltham Vanguard, but put the Tissot away, and wearing Omega Seamaster day/date in the Tissot’s place.

I've been retired for four years so lock down is no big deal around here. It's more gratifying to wear the watches now than ever.

Every day, I'm working from home so started a daily rotation at the start of lockdown, but seem to have stopped somewhere along the line, this thread kick started me again, so today is ST#2.

Right before lockdown, I bought a stand-up glass-topped desk. Which means, wearing my preferred steel bracelet watches freaks me out a bit, as they clatter off the surface. So daytime working involves mostly wearing a strap, like this old desk diver...

But that gives me an excuse to switch it up in the evenings 😀

All the time (no pun) and I switch about four times a day - well, I’m home and so are the watches 😉
