I only ever wear watches when I leave our apartment, never when I am in it. I am also a big clock fan - so much so that I don’t think there is a single point in space within our apartment where I can’t see a clock 😟 So, no need for a watch indoors for me. This means that here in NYC right now I am almost never wearing my watches because I am taking the stay at home thing very seriously (I am a Microbiologist and I know this makes a big difference in community spread). I am missing the watches though, so might start wearing at home soon. Meanwhile, for some reason I have now developed an obsession to get a digital watch (retro style), so I am looking at a lot of those online. Haven’t had a 100% digital watch in over 20 years. FYI, leaning towards Casio A158. Long answer to a short question!

Don’t you have a digital alarm clock in the bedroom? Easier to see than a watch Lume.
If having a means to tell the time was the criteria to wear a watch them I guess I'd never be able to wear one considering I have a phone in hand most of the time, clocks on walls, monitor where I work for 8-10 hrs a day etc.

I can't do that, unless it's my Timex, which hangs on a hook with various camera USB cables next to my computer.

First I need to go into the [redacted]

Send "open storage" request to ****** web-site

Receive PIN on burner phone and type confirmation

Then open the outer [not disclosed in this document]

Reach [in/out/up/down/left/right] (Pick two)

Turn or push or pull the, errr, operating operator to the right direction

Check the electricity mains phase and frequency (you may have read about the UK's frequency drop that caused so much trouble with equipment dropping offline last year).

Breath deep and carefully open the shipping container that holds my collection.

Too much stress to do twice a day, mate.

I do. I also noticed that while I would normally quickly glimpse at my watch when checking the time, the extra privacy and time I have these days let me stop for a few seconds more to enjoy the dial.

Absolutely! And I find myself drawn to Flying Snoopy, because it helps ease some stress each time I look down.

I don't think it gets any more digital than this:

I actually find more time to rotate between my watches when in lockdown.

So more than one a day with accelerated changeovers due to, well, frankly, dot all else to do whilst locked down? Me too!

Actually, my long-term habit of "what's the need for a day complication on any watch, i know what the day is ffs?" has ground to a halt and life can rotate around "what day is it?" and "is it still the same day as before?"

I can't contemplate not wearing a watch though before I was infected with the chrono-virus and started filling my life with more watches than is healthy, I didn't wear a watch at weekends without a specific purpose. I suppose you could say that retirement is kinda like lockdown in smaller doses.
I slip on a second watch for my daily exercise, a garmin smart watch thing. I cannot yet contemplate wearing that as my sole wrist wear.

Actually F101’s with prototype bracelets on test

I know the amount of work that has gone into these, great to see how well they've been received.

The bracelets look like a superb match.

Not wearing a watch for me is similar to that feeling you get if you mistakenly leave your wallet at home. I also always wear one at home. So yes, the virus may have made me scale down on purchasing a bit but certainly not wearing one.

I am retired so if I didn't wear a watch at home I would rarely wear a watch.

One of the aspects that appeals to me about watches is the reminder of my youth. As a kid, we all wore watches. I had a watch before I had a wallet. Watch, bag lunch, books, out the door to school. I enjoy getting up, winding my watch and starting the day.

Also, since getting a Speedmaster for daily wearer, I find I use the chronograph a lot. I have come to rely on that chronograph. I could of course get along without it but it would be less immediate as when the timing is connected to my wrist.

Lastly, I had a leather strap especially made for my speedy. It could be duplicated but it is a one of a kind. I enjoy looking at the anthracite crocodile strap almost as much as the watch. Since it is my daily, I treasure ever knick and micro scratch. I look forward to watching it age alongside my body.

May I suggest a Casio DW5600 901 reference? These were worn on the Space Shuttle so have a NASA connection. They are inexpensive but still a collectible and respected watch amongst Casio fans.

Never really worn watches at home much, so not seeing a lot of wrist time for anything now. Though my desk does seem to have a nice piece on it all the time which I'm rotating to keep variety
