Do you think this transitional is too good to be true?

So.
Spotted this 145.022-68 “Transitional” in a major auction house.
Thought immediately, “that’s redone/relumed” but the more I look, the more I’m not sure.
It just looks like new. Tight bracelet, no bracelet changing scratches, no case opening marks. Original polished/brushed finish? Maybe…
What do the real experts think?
I’m on my 4th San Miguel, you tell me.

Could be fine and looks to me like it is from that one picture.
Before prices skyrocketed I recall seeing a similar one on eBay. I was bidding and recall having a chuckle at the silly winner who bit north of £3k.

They're still out there. Given the increase in values one just needs to check everything in great detail to confirm it’s original.

I have not had any San Miguels, yet, and note my post count but:
Second hand and counters look more white than hour and minute hands.
How did lume plots on dial stay so nice and the hour/minute hands are not.
Pushers not set to same depth, reset (lower) pusher shows gap to case.
Looks like marks on both bottom lugs, so not a recent polish , if at all.

I'd buy it for 3k. 😉

6-8k? Seems pretty low to me for a transitional, especially if that’s a 1039 bracelet. The end links are 516s, so a 1039 appears likely.

Price guide is 6-8k usd.
Estimates from auction houses do not say a lot

Very nice. Looks unpolished and all the parts look to be in similarly good condition so I vote it’s a genuine survivor.
