Have any of you come across an Aquasport model like the picture below? Searching this forum and the web I have not come across any other pictures of the same model. The italicized font is kinda cool. I like the hands as well. It's on ebay right now.

The Aquasport line came in a wide variety of dials and case styles. The product line was launched around 1941 and featured steel screwback cases and colorful dials. There was also a watertight tank model:

Your example is sort of a second-generation Aquasport, circa 1944. The dials got a little more austere and came in black or white with lumed hands and arabic numbers. These are relatively common; you'll also find them with a 24-hour dial:

Yes, it appears Menta has teamed up with MrMinto….. one needs to be careful it appears.

Yep, especially as a collector. You might end up sprinkled around his watches for decorations.

Nice crappola, btw @oinkitt! 😁

Nice, but will need a little bit of polywatch to be even more.

Like to keep some of the light scratches on the crystal, makes it feel more genuine and not ”fixed up”

OK, it"s a way of managing vintage watches.

In this case it depends on the light and angle aswell, this photos taken in direct sunlight. Also a white dial shows scratches in the crystal way more than darker coloured dials 😀

Same crystal, different lights!

Beautiful watches. I especially like the tanks. Makes me want to turn on an old movie complete with double breasted suits and fedoras.

Model T-400 cal 28.5, ca 1953. I knew going in that this one had a refinished dial but it's such an uncommon reference and I have a soft spot for square/oblong stainless steel watches I couldn't pass it up.

It's really quite large for the period as well, 32mm ex crown x 43mm.
