Do you consider the Speedmaster to be a luxury watch?

Well, I guess it's not fair to pull words out of context.
Here you go, straight from Wikipedia

Piont was for what is "considered" luxury. Context is relevant. However I agree with your sentiment. I'm done on this.

I would disagree on BMW example, 1,3 basic models 5 series are not luxury cars by any means, not even close to be one. They have 6 and 7 series , m series on the other hand - are 100% luxury cars.
If we are talking about Speedy Pro, for me it is an entry level luxury watch for sure.I weren't trying to say that it isn't.

Honestly and I don't mean for this to come off the way it will but if you don't consider an BMW a luxury car you are really out of touch with most of humanity. I am not even talking about sub Saharan Africa or the Rio slums. The average person in America would think you are insane.

Perhaps it adds some value, if you compare the price of a 1,3,5,7-series with a decent same size no frills car from Toyota, VW, GM. (factor 2-3)
And if you do so with a speedy compared to a Timex, Casio, Seiko 5 (factor 10 -50).
If a Casio DW-5600 is good enough for astronauts, it shoud be for you 馃槈. Everything else is luxury.

^^^If you live in the real world with normal people. +1^^^

Indeed. Everything is relative/subjective but any watch costing four figures upwards (or less) is a luxury. If someone doesn't think the Speedmaster is a luxury item they need to take a reality check.
