Hi so, i could not help my selfe, i bought a seamaster. With my limited knowledge it seems to pass as legit but what do you experts say?
Yes i know its a redial, it said in the description so i bought it anyway. Thing is that i did not want a resto project, and I was looking for a everyday watch and comparing the cost i swallowed my pride and went for it... so for a noob i think its allright, but?

It’s a real watch with a redial.

So a pass and not a fail if you knew it was already a redial.

The top left lug is incredibly bent, and the dial as you state is a redial, I am not sure that is really justified as a good idea by 'not wanting a resto project'.

Personally I would return it and shop in the for sale section on the forum here

I agree with both above. It seems like you're posting here still with some doubts in your mind whether it was a good purchase. There are plenty of non "project watches" that pop up on the sales thread here all the time that maybe just require a service. If you're happy with the one your purchased I'd just say wear it.

Thing is that Im in a learning curve, and thought i got it right as far as model and looks an correct caliber but not shure because there seem like 1000 traps to fall in. But the lugs is intresting, not my photos but there also a bit strange reflexes in pic. Well will see when i get it.

I agree with @STANDY.

If you did your homework and looked at the market and this price was much lower than original dials and you like it, then you should follow your instinct.

Many people here will push you to spend more than you can afford— and that may work for their bank account but you are the one who’s spending the hard earned cash.
I commend you for doing what’s right for you and not letting yourself be pressured by what collectors think is right for them. Most people in real life absolutely don’t care if a dial is original or not.

Well spot on i think, it was way cheeper than the ones i had in my "neighbourhood" and what i found, correct cal, chassi, hands and crown but with a new dial. All others i considered was 30-100% more expensive and many of then needed atleast a big service and new glass. But as this might be my start watch (exept the constallation) i just wanted a confirmation that my finding was correct. But of course if i missed a bent lug thats to bad but well se how it looks in "person". It going to be worn during daily work at one of the best truck manufacturers in the world so i dont want a too expensive one either. It might get a beating now and then

You know what it is, what you want it for and the price was right. Win, win I reckon.
As Syrte says the general population will neither realise or care if the watch is a redial, at best they might notice you are wearing a classic timepiece.
Enjoy.

Wear and enjoy the watch as stated above if the price was right and you didnt pay full price for a redial then thats a good looking watch 👍.

I can accept a decent redial but a bent lug is a turn off for me.

I would return it based on that.

If the lug turns out to be bent and you decide to return the watch— you could also consider lovely watches from many other brands than Omega, which may be very nice and very good quality, but much cheaper because the brand is less famous.
There are many nice options available even on a budget,
If you really want a Seamaster that’s okay too, but you are paying the price of a well known model of a well known brand. If you spend time looking you may find cheaper Omegas in the «Geneve» subcategory, or in the Deville subcategory.
Many other people know much more than I do about Omega but I think that should be about right.

Oh crap! That was an interesting turn of events.
Message the guy about the lug, he said he had not noticed it, ok that may be. But also he want to refund me because now the watch dont work well, lets see how this works out, hope he dont want me to log in to an Nigerian bank to get my money. Hope for the best, well seems like i have to look for another watch...maybe just grab a casio and be done with it....

Having been the owner of about 1/2 dozen Seamaster’s of this vintage, I wouldn’t shit on Longines- they can punch pound for pound against Omega and can be more interesting esthetically

I don’t think it has anything to do with « shitting », somehow people have various attachments to various brands for whatever reasons which may be sentimental, it evokes certain images or certain memories. If people want an Omega you should let them get what they want - and certainly not try to convince them to buy Longines instead :whipped:
