·I am new to this forum and a new Omega watch owner. I recently purchased the Diver 300m chrono 44m in full Sedna gold. I had been looking at this particular piece for a few months now and pulled the trigger on the purchase about a week ago. I did look at the other offerings on the Seamaster line like the two tone version, but I already have a two tone Rolex GMT Master 2, and thought it was time to go full gold now! I like my watches big (minimum 44mm) with some heft (I like to know it's there, and believe me you know you're wearing this when all of its 189g is around your wrist!). Plus, I really liked how there was only just gold and black on this piece; for me it was less cluttered and simple - just 2 colours. Nothing else. And I really liked the blacked out bezel. No distractions with the big numbers on it (let's face it, I'm not going diving with this so I don't really need to see the minute numbers on the bezel). I liked it. A clean and simple colour combination and loved the gold contrasting against the black. So, it was primarily the look of the watch that got me. I thought it was gorgeous.
Then, I started to explore the brand more and discovered so many things I didn't know about Omega. Like the co-axial escapement or the number of jewels (54!) this watch has or how it was tested to COSC plus METAS. I am no watch expert, but the more I read up the more fascinating it was to understand that there was a lot more to this little piece of jewelry on my wrist - certainly more (to me at least) than the technology in my Rolexes. I have three Rolex pieces, but this is my only Omega. I think I'm going to be wearing this Seamaster 300 for a while.
Now how on earth do I post photos? Every time I try to upload a photo I get this message:
“The uploaded file was not an image as expected.”
