Interesting take away. Why is that?

I don't why everything has to be so complicated here. If you like the watch and/or picture, give it a like, if it doesn't do anything for you, don't. I see no sense in giving a like just because it is by a particular poster.....that's being a sycophant.

I think this thread has simply made me aware of the optics of posting everyday in WRUW. I hadn't thought about it until now and had happily posted there as part of my daily routine not knowing that it perhaps comes across as being a bit 'thirsty'(as the cool kids say).

Nothing wrong with posting every day. I say keep at it brother. Don’t let anyone ruin your fun.

Absolutely. Under no circumstances should you be put off from posting. WRUW is about enjoyment of this hobby. Its not a popularity contest. Frankly its the one place where one gets a survey of who's got what in their collections. Personally I post from time to time and also from time to time blast through 8-9 pages liking just about everything. Then I wander off for a while and get distracted by the ever more frequent "WHATS MY WATCH WORTH? or "I JUST BOUGHT THIS" posts.

I didn't intend for this thread to put anyone off from posting in WRUW.

It's a great thread for watch mavens to see and be seen.

I can count on one hand how many people out there among the "Great Unwatched" notice a watch I'm wearing. By comparison WRUW is the land of opportunity.

It's great for absorbing composition and photography techniques of the skillful Forum members.

Perusing WRUW gives one ideas about future watch "needs" to add to his want list.

We have an opportunity to share enthusiasm for our shared interest.

We get the privilege to interact with folks the wide world over and find out that we can share our humanity.

I am probably guilty of “dishonest likes” but not because of the watch. I’ve found that I do actually like most watches because they’re so varied and interesting. The dishonest part is because some of the straps - I try to keep an open mind, but some really make me question what the wearer was thinking. I don’t hold that against the watch though so even if it is a questionable strap, it will still get a like. 😉

Sometimes one just has to let their hair down 😉 for me, that’s metaphorical as I shave my head 😁 so I let my hair down through my straps 😀

Though, most of the time I keep it sensible 😁

For the record, I like 100% of these straps!

And there are watches owned by posters that I positively look forward to seeing and re-seeing and about which I’d name their owners but this post would then be far too long although I will say that @CPRwatch hasn't posted his Grand Seiko on perlon for a very long time and I almost covet @Alpha's Everest and Angelus and I was sorry he sold his Alpina.

I usually like if I
Like the watch
And/or Like the photo
And/or Like some other aspect of the post
Any of those 3 and I’ll give it a like perhaps we need more complex options

1: like watch
2: like post
3: watch is shite, photo great
4: crap photo, cool watch

😀

I peruse the page from time to time to see what’s what in member’s collection and to get inspiration of what I might like to one day add to mine. I don’t post many shots any more of mine. I have a few that I reach for on a consistent basis and I feel mine are quite redundant. Y’all keep posting. I like to see them…and therefore most all get likes when I scroll through.

I like Omega watches, especially vintage Omegas in WRUW. Most vintage Swiss watches is appreciated. Citizen and Casio also get a like from me. Invictas too, I like gutsy posts. As does pictures including pets or maybe kids and family, thats always heart warming.

Sometimes I feel this way too, But ultimately we're all here on a watch forum posting pictures of... our watches. The one primary thing that connects most members is an interest in... watches. So... is it thirsty, or is it the whole point?

I tend to look through the WRUW thread when I post there, and typically like a couple of pages back in a couple of pages forward and pick images that I like. So make sure to comment occasionally on watches I find particularly attractive or images that I like. My likes tend to occur in clusters for that reason.

WRUW is a great opportunity to share with the general public my strap combo's, especially this one which a few members requested to post more everytime they see it:

I've got mixed reactions on a local forum but I'm the one wearing it so that's the important thing.

Furthermore WRUW today is the best place to see watches I wouldn't see elsewhere.
