Mods have already pulled this guy's FS access, we'll soon move this thread to seller profiles / reviews btw which will take it off latest but given he isn't selling here any longer its effectively run its course.

I really didn’t think that my original post would stir up so much controversy.
It really was ‘blowing off some steam’ after feeling pretty hard done by.
I totally agree that the topic has run it’s course.
Thanks for all the support in posts and PM’s.

Good lord, it's been thirty minutes. Perhaps he is doing other things besides reading the site.
I guess we know why he never responded.

I almost bought virro's titus calypsomatic till someone told him that the crown is wrong (Larry or Tony I forgot)

By then I had sent payment. (I was eager for a titus), virro send me my money back less than what it should cause he cited PayPal fees.

I was astounded and agreed nonetheless. I would never ever buy from him ever again.

That is definitely shady. Ok, so this guy probably deserved to be called out for his poor practices. And apparently he will not be selling on this site in the future, so there is balance again in the universe.

.

@sdre , I’m trying to better understand your Titus Calypsomatic deal. A watch that I know zero about btw.

This pic, clearly showing the crown, appears with @virro OF sales listing. I presume it was there at the time you made a deal.

In quickly researching this watch on Google, nearly all of the first page of pics of a Titus Calypsomatic had a crown style as shown below. Very different.

Did you research this watch before you agreed to purchase it? Seems to me you should have known the crown was a replacement.

No. I didn't know that it was a replacement crown. He didn't state it even though he claimed that "I should have known" as a buyer. This is my fault and I am to blame for this part. Also I was having dinner with the in laws, I couldn't be using the phone 50% of the time searching. But alas, FOMO (Fear of missing out) got the better of me so i made the transaction.

But the way he quickly turned the conversation from "oh cool, no worries take your time with dinner, I will hold the watch for you an hour" to "Oh you should have done your homework as a buyer and you SHOULD KNOW THAT THIS IS A REPLACEMENT CROWN, i cannot refund you your complete payment because i will not absorb the fees"... i mean come on man, i have done full refunds for paypal before and i never thought of the fees. You just send out what you received.

I absolutely loath his tone change to try to get a quick buck from the situation and if he only tried to explain the situation better and had better communication, i won't be so salty about this particular seller.

Can’t question you on the payment issue. If the watch was never shipped, It seems you should have been made whole.

AFAIK, there are no PayPal fees when a sale is canceled and funds returned. The only risk, on occasion, is different foreign currency rates if the payment and refund aren’t processed on the same day.

Thanks for the clarification.

But to be fair, everyone else I have worked with on OF has been an absolute gent and pleasure to work with. I won't hesitate to purchase or sell on this forum.
