Different shipping charges outside of the USA?

I was just looking at some eBay sellers I have used in the past. Noticed they have increased shipping prices and wonder if this is only for the USA? I can’t say as I would blame them, why go through the hassle when you can just sell it elsewhere easier.

What I've noticed is that eBay shipping charges have been wildly variable for many, many, many years and although I don't use eBay as much as I have in the past, it's still the case and what I've been ordering hasn't been any more expensive to ship than before. "They" can be what eBay automatically calculates for the seller or what the seller decides to input as the cost. It's why a small $5.00 item sometimes "costs" $57.89 to ship and other times is free. I've noticed this for my saved sellers and new sellers I've come across.

For me, in Europe, it's free shipping. One can't be on eBay.com (global) and exclude the US. I guess their workaround is to increase shipping to an obscene amount for US specifically.

Is it separate from tariffs or is it inclusive, because a lot of sites are forcing goods to have their tariff paid up front, and given these are probably Chinese origin I'm guessing its like 45% or something depending on the day of the week and orbit of Neptune. It looks like its about 45% give or take another small to moderate change which would make sense.

shipping from Canada to the US via regular post now requires up-front payment of duties/taxes/tariffs (there is another thread somewhere about this....)and a phone app that calculates this IF I want the hassle. As you note, this may be the way around the $ end of things. Does not make a difference AFAIK to the delays in clearance and delivery with their government shut down:whipped:
