Both ugly....
I genuinely can’t remember seeing a single owner
The 2000s Railmasters didn’t exactly do that well either, nor did the originals seem to fly off the shelves. Maybe the Railmaster line is just cursed or something.
Might be in the name, I can imagine that 99.99% of the Omega watch buying would understand the need to be the Master of the sea, or the Master of speed, but wouldn't have a clue why they needed to be the Master of rail.
I guess the other issue it has was that the Aqua Terra was a really nice looking watch that was priced about the same and sitting in the same display case with a similar dial hands and bezel both in the 2000s and in the 2020s. But while the railmasters had more vintage inspired spartan dials, the AT’s had cool starburst dials and 3d dial furniture. It leaves the Railmaster just looking a little bit flat by comparison.
Both ugly....
[...]What you would expect if it were discontinued for being a slow seller is to see it dry up in Omega availability but be plentiful on chrono24 as the greys buy them at a fire sale price[....]
