Did JL ever make Reverso in 18k White Gold?

Seller is asking a whisker over $4900...it's in Australia. I consider that price low for a white gold reverso...and while I have proof the watch was examined by JL...there is none that the work was done and the specific issues corrected. I just don't feel like getting into a long distance purchase with a watch that very probably needs work. I'm probably going to pass on the steel one I've been looking at as well. I will focus on a gold and steel or all gold one. And I'm in no rush.

Sounds cheap but unless you too are in Aus presumably you’ll be stung for import duties? A JLC service would add circa £750 so that plus the clasp mean it’s not as cheap as it first appears maybe. Wait for the right one to come along.

Here is the size: Reverso Classique 18k WG 23x38mm salmon dial, 17mm whisky shell cordovan strap (generic buckle)

Possibly a bit late now, but I found this model in the 1998/99 catalogue:

Sadly, I don't have the price list but the 1993/94 price list lists a similar model (not the exact one) in white gold at CHF 7.500.

FYI, that WG model probably came with a gold tang buckle and not a deployant buckle.

Personally, for me, the Reverso works best in SS anyway. Art Deco and SS just go well together and it started its run as a sports watch.

You really like the idea of a WG watch, no problem with that. Just be cognizant of the size, it's the classic size. It was the normal size in 1932 but would be considered small-ish for a man today.

Trivia...I always remember Jaeger-LeCoultre referred to as JLC...for years. Now just JL? Thinking of buckles...did they ever say JLC?

Well 23mm by 38mm...I drew that out and it isn't that small compared to a 34mm round watch.

So I solved my Reverso problem and found one I like more than the others. It satisfies my "gold bug" issues but is not all gold. And it gives me my needed second hand, which the white gold classic did not have. It is a Grand Taille gold and steel model, comes with a full set, on a worn but still servicible tan ostrich strap with the JL deployant clasp. The strap will get replaced sooner than later...maybe the clasp as well, I prefer tang buckles. I guess to goes back to the first Rolex I saw...gold and steel...and it is still an elegant combination in my opinion. And it is also the metal combination of the first Reverso I ever saw in person...they are just hard to find these days. So I'm a happy boy. Picks are from the seller.

This thread reminds me of my white gold reverso that I sold a while back. It was a sharp looking watch that weighed a ton for its diminutive size
