Looks legit, JLC made a few models in WG over the years. Fake Reversos are relatively easy to spot because it isn't easy to fake the swivelling case. Most fakers don't even try, they just move on to models that are easier to fake.
The seller offers books and papers but is upfront in saying they do not belong to this watch.
I think he is offering them because they are nice to have...the manual, all of the other stuff that would have come with the watch. Look at how many of us buy boxes and books and various pieces put out by manufacturers. I have lots of these on Rolexes. I never pair them with a watch and say they are the ones that came with a watch of mine...but some people like to have that stuff.
Compare the placement of the hallmarks in the two examples...this one and the other that we know is authentic. Look at the dials...does anyone have knowledge that the dial I am referring to is fake?
Don't get hung up on placement of hallmarks, these vary wildly over the years. I have a very early Reverso, ca 1993, which was one of the earliest Reversos in the upgraded case construction and the hallmarks are very minimal. Over the years they became more standardized but there are still variations. I don't see anything in the pics that would arouse my suspicions. Too bad that the original gold buckle has gone missing, but this can happen. Paperwork on these models is pretty minimal, a standardized booklet in various languages describing the watch and one page where the seller stamped his store, model number, serial number and date. No huge loss if they are missing. But there is a ding for missing buckle.
Just be aware of the sizes, the ones without sub seconds tend to be on the smaller size.
