After scuffing up two clasps already, I also decided to remove my watch if on steel bracelet.

As @styggpyggeno1 suggested, wrapping the watch in bubble wrap is a very effective way to protect it. I tried that method, but found myself constantly taking it off to check the time.

Fortunately, after a 1/2 day session of brainstorming with my watch protection Kaizan leader, I uncovered a more effective method. Now I put the bubble wrap under my keyboard instead.

Viola!

Protects the watch just as well, without any of that wasted effort.👍

No worries. If you use the hunt-and-peck typing method, your bracelets never touch the desk.

I put my watch on my Johnson while at the keyboard to avoid marks.

Yeah yeah, I know. Pictures or it didn't happen. Will upload photo later 👍

Lots of passive aggression for a topic that harbors many different responses!

If you are really worried about your shiny new clasp, then paint a thin layer of clear nail polish on it. Protects, cannot be seen if applied correctly, and 100% reversible.

Vintage guys could care less, but I understand how guys with new pieces fear scratches and abhor patina.

Sometimes I leave on all day, sometimes I take off...all depends on watch and mood. Sometimes I wear 2-3 watches in the same day.

Wearing a shirt and tie to work has the added benefit of protecting the watch from any desk wear. 😀

Just imagining how you must have to bend over towards your desk to put the tie under your wrist as you type - effective maybe but I can't see it being very comfortable...

My work attire is currently shorts and a tee shirt...and I'm wearing my watch as I type this...

Its the cuffs. Although I did try the tie thing just now, and you are right...it isn't very comfortable.

I am surprised and amused on how many people take their big-ass heavy bracelet watches off while at the desk ... "for comfort reasons" ...

isnt that a bit like ....

The continuous digging from resting on the desk is a bit of a different feel to the weight of a watch on your wrist...

I'm curious if you desk divers who work with keyboards all day.. do you take off your watch while you type, and set it down on the table?

Or are we all just leaving it on our wrist?

Easy solution, long sleeves!

Would a wrist pad like this help? When sitting up straight and using one of these I physically cannot get the clasp of my watch to come close to contacting the desk.

My secretary does all the typing. She also serves beers, makes coffee, cooks dinner, washes the car, the list goes on.
What was the question again?

It might... But with these thin Apple keyboards being so... Thin... I don't think I'd be able to use the keys!
