Hi on my new watch the movement comes out through the front of the watch. Hope this makes sense. Its a geneve ? or seamaster.....not sure. I thought you pulled crown out further to change date but apparently not. I pulled to first position to move hands and then noticed date was wrong so pulled further at which point the whole thing came out of the watch. It has gone back in fine and everything works. Is this normal with this watch or should I get the shop I bought it from to check it out

Thanks

That can happen on a watch like that. It will freak you out the first time it happens. If it happens really easily the stem/crown connection may be worn and should be replaced.

If it's warrantied by the shop have them check it out.

It's called a split stem - over time they can wear and need replacement, or get sprung if someone is rough with them.

For Omegas the female end is typically on the crown, so you would likely have seen this end:

The male end is on the stem portion that is in the movement:

As noted if the stem keeps popping apart, you may need both parts replaced.

Cheers, Al
