I just purchased a watch on eBay from a jeweler. Having sold on eBay, I am inclined to keep the watch. I purchased for $1,100 under list for a lightly used watch. I have found a new sale where I would get box, papers, a new watch and a 5-year warranty for $260.00 more than I paid. The eBay seller has a two week return policy. Which way would you go?

Are you a math teacher? 😁

Two watches are heading towards each other. One has box and papers and is going 80 miles per hour. The other watch is going 30 mph but has a five year warranty. What date is on the watches?

No a bad idea. Pay for shipping both ways and an extra $50.00

i would ask them what the ebay fees are and reimburse them, since they likely got pretty boned on the fees and that is probably not refunded if you apply for the return.

for mininising any feelings of guilt.

Depends on the watch. I have no more space under my bed for BnP, so unless it were a radial alaska project from nasa with BnP signed by the Shuttle crew of every mission it flew on Id probably be happy to save space.

If they say you can return for any reason, then fine, return it if you feel the other watch is a better deal. Otherwise, stick to your word...

It would sure seem any on-line retailer knows & accepts he'll have a higher-than-normal rate of return. Call it 'try it before you buy it' if you will. Buying on-line it's the first time you may have seen the product. All said, no matter, take the best deal. These same retailers must understand that reality.

Buy the new one and sell the one you already bought. Not sure why this is a question. A better 'deal' came up. so you want to penalize the initial seller?

A few questions (since it isn’t clear from your post):

Is this “new sale” from a local AD where you can walk in and leave with the watch? Or is it an online grey market dealer (or another EBay seller? How well do you trust this dealer?

I’m thinking “bird in the hand vs. two in the bush” here.

The new sale is from a grey market dealer. I am planning on keeping the original watch.

Well I picked the right one. The eBay watch has four years of factory warranty left.
