    Hi all,

picked up this constellation yesterday. Needs a bit of TLC but I am pretty happy with it.
Crystal isn’t original and will be changed and case need a bit of TLC but I intend on breathing new life into this old girl.
It has a 564 movement and is ref 168.017.
    1966-67 me thinks.

Also I have been told in the Facebook forums that the omega logo being down the bottom and the constellation logo being above signifies it being an Omega made to be sold in the Japanese market.

    can anyone confirm?

Do you know this for sure?

I don’t think that dial has anything to do with Japanese market, it just a later evolution of the C case from the early 1970’s.
168.056 with 1011 movement would be my guess.

I was given details from the seller. I will do a shot of the movement later tonight and post it here.

I just punched in the ref you provided into the book of google and sure enough I got a pic of my watch ‍♂️. I’ll do a movement shot after and get to the bottom of this.

I have seen this dial with cal. 564 movements. Could be a transitional piece. No way to tell from the photos. However, the OP could test to see if the date has the push-pull quick advance (564) or 2nd crown position bi-directional date advance (1011).

The cal. 1011 example would be thinner when compared side-by-side.

So the date is 1st position and goes both ways. I can go from the 3rd to the 4th or from 3rd to the 2nd.

can’t open the case back. It’s on too tight and I don’t have a safe way to do it without risking scratching it so I’ll take it to my watch smith to open and we can see then.

Also I have a quick question, on the time teller channel he said that the 1020 movement has a gear tearing issue upon restarting the movement once it’s dead.

does the 1011 movement have the same kind of problem? I’m only going off the fact that the movement ref is almost the same. I have had a few Omegas but nothing vintage so this is all new to me.

Going to get the case back opened up tomorrow. Will provide photos.
Ended up giving it a polish just to take the tarnish of it. Not a polish to cut back any metal.

So here are photos of the case back and movement.

on the case back it’s confirms that this is a 168.0056 and I have marked where I think the 1011 is marked on the movement. Couldn’t see it with my eyesight and the iPhone isn’t much better I’m afraid.
