Concealed clasp bracelet for SMP300c?

I know there have been other threads like this but I’m having trouble finding an answer to this specific question. (Please feel free to berate me and point me to an existing thread if I missed one.)

BLUF: anyone know of a good quality (oem or otherwise) bracelet with a concealed clasp (like the AT butterfly one) that will fit the new SM300c divers?

Backstory:

I have the new model SM300c diver, blue wave on bracelet.

It came with one of the infamous bum clasps, but the AD quickly took care of that for me and I’ve been enjoying the watch a daily wear ever since.

That said, as time wears on, I’m falling out of love with the huge bracelet with the enormous clasp that has sharp edges. I know this is a well-trodden subject and that some folks have sanded edges down, etc.

What I’m realizing is that I love divers (even though I don’t dive) but dislike big bulky diver clasps. I really like the bracelet on the Aqua Terras but gather there will be compatibility issues there?

The Uncle Seikos I’ve found all have big clasps, albeit not as big as the oem one.

Thanks in any case!

I see the 42mm Seamaster Professional still uses a 20mm bracelet. In that case, the one you want is, I believe, 020ST1501823. That's a Bond bracelet with a sliding, hidden clasp. I have one around here somewhere, but I have no clue where it is at the moment and finding it would be laborious.

Good luck.

If nothing else, it's possible that the end links can be swapped.

Although the width of the old bracelet is 20mm, I would be shocked if it fit the new case without modification. The new case is 42mm, the old one was 41mm and considerably thinner. I suspect the holes in the lugs won’t line up properly with the end piece. You MIGHT be able to swap the end pieces and get it to work, but I’d wait for a 100% confirmation it works before trying it.

Agree. And it’s occurring to me that posting this on Christmas probably didn’t do me any favors. I’m not in a rush.

land now that I think of it, I don’t think you CAN replace the end-pieces. The old one uses pins and collars, the new one uses a pin and screws. Not sure the collars will work on the new end piece.

If you can get it to fit, it’s a wonderful bracelet, very comfortable.

I think you could use the pin through the last piece of the bracelet to the new end link that uses screws instead of friction to hold the pin.

The problem is, the connection to the end piece is on the bracelet side, not the end-piece. Look at the diagram above. You will HAVE to use the collars and pins from the old bracelet to make the connection. I’m pretty sure the old pins (and collars) are thinner than the ones used with the screws. That means you’ll have to try to get the collars (part 10 in the diagram above) to fit in the holes of the end-piece and stay in place. I think the holes are not the right size — they will either be too small (so the collar won’t fit) or two wide (so the collars won’t stay locked in place to hold the pin). You won’t be able to use the pin and screws because the old bracelet doesn’t have the threaded holes.

Not saying this is definitely a problem, but I have experience with both types of bracelets, and from memory, the sizes of the holes are not compatible.

Thanks! I was theorizing out loud. It’s not looking good for this bracelet/watch head combo.

Appreciate the wisdom of the forum here. I may just have to adapt to the watch (which I really do love, way more than any of the Subs I’ve had) rather than adapt the watch to me.
